Nickel oxide (NiO) was prepared through a hydrothermal method. Nickel chloride hexahydrate and hexamethylenetetramine were dissolved in deionized water and subjected to hydrothermal growth at 200°C for 4 hours. The resulting particles were washed, dried, and annealed at 500°C to obtain NiO for characterization and potential solar cell applications.

1. NiO was prepared by dissolving 0.1 M of Nickel(II) chloride hexahydrate (NiCl2.6H2O),
0.1M of hexamethylenetetramine(HMT,C6H12N4) in 50 mL deionized water. 2. Hydrothermal growth was carried out at 200C in an autoclave placed in a furnace for 4hr. 3. The obtained particles were washed with distilled water several times and dried at room temperature in air for further characterisation. 4. The obtained particles were annealed for 1 hour at 500C.
