Hydraulic System

Open Center
Pump flow is routed back to the reservoir through the control valves open center
(return path) during a neutral state
Hydraulic oil is not pumped to high pressure during a neutral state
Continuous flow through the hydraulic system

Positive Control
Pressure rises to change the pumps from a low flow state to a high flow state
Amount of pump flow is in direct proportion to movement of the joysticks
Operator is in total control of hydraulic flow and pressure
Pumps only deliver the necessary oil flow

16
HD Boom and Arm

Kobelco standard feature

Built for auxiliary attachment use
Use of cast steel on boom at arm
attachment point strengthens
critical areas and improves
structural durability
Arm has thick side plates that
provides additional strength
Rock guard plate with vertical
reinforcement strips protect the arm

17
Flanged Bushings

Flanged bushings
Located at arm end
Friction inhibiting
Provides a tighter fit -
less likely to loosen
All bushings
Improved design that
is more forgiving for
possibility of longer
greasing intervals

18
Buckets

Buckets are interchangeable with previous generation machines

(Dynamic Acera)
Buckets available from many manufacturers
All buckets must meet KOBELCO recommended specs for bucket
geometry, tooth tip radius, pin to pin spacing, etc.
Adding a quick coupler and/or thumb requires the use of a
smaller bucket 19

44
Auto Accel / Auto Decel

Switch located on the

monitor
Auto Decel reduces engine
speed after 4 seconds of
inactivity
Reduces noise and fuel
consumption
Auto Accel increases engine
speed proportionately with
joystick movement

45
Auto Warm-up System
Use the monitor screen and
buttons to turn off
Default is on
Activates at 50F
Warms both the engine and
hydraulic system
Engine speed gradually
increases and hydraulic oil is
circulated over relief
If the cycle is interrupted, auto
warm-up will restart after ten
seconds of inactivity

46
Power Boost

Provides additional arm and bucket breakout force

during digging
Increases hydraulic system pressure for higher
breakout forces

47
Heavy Lift

Increases hydraulic system pressure for additional

lifting power and reduces flow from the pumps.
Speed is reduced as pressure increases
Gives the operator more control for precise load placement

48
Independent Travel

Dedicates one pump to travel circuits and one pump to

upper structure
Travel speed is reduced but remains constant when
swinging or lifting while traveling
Gives the operator more control when carrying a load and
traveling

49
Swing Priority

Automatic feature
Gives one pump flow to
the swing when the arm-
in and swing are used at
the same time.
Allows for maximum
productivity in
Trenching
Cutting with the side of the
bucket
