Workshop # 5: Basic daily activities. Writing strategy: Guided writing and

matching.

Objective: By the end of the workshop, students will be able to write about basic daily

activities and how often those activities are done.

Vocabulary: Daily routine, adverbs of frequency, actions verbs.

Grammar: Simple present affirmative and negative forms, adverbs of frequency.

Pre-Task

Brainstorming:

1.Students are divided into small teams and given each team a sheet of paper. Teacher

Call out one of the categories, e.g. five things that watched, five numbers, five adverbs of

frequency The students then brainstorm and write down five answers. Each team gets

one point for each answer that matches the teacher's answer. The team with the most points

at the end of the game is the winner.

2.Students develop a review of simple present about routines and make emphasis on

frequency adverbs through a power point presentation, they have to take notes in their

notebooks.

3.a.Students develop the first task in the worksheet rewriting the sentences using adverbs

of frequency.

b.In a text students underline sentences where the adverbs of frequency are presented.

While Task:

1. Through different examples on the board, students are explained the way that the

sentences with negative form in present simple are constructed.

2. In groups of three, students are given paper sentences, broken into parts in order to

reorganize them to form correct negative sentences setting them on the board.

Drafting:

Students develop the sencond task about grammar present simple negative form: filling the

blank with dont and doesnt in the Worksheet.

Revising:

1. A power point presentation is worked with the class. Each student is asked to complete a

sentence with the appropiate grammar for negative or affirmative form in present simple.

2. Students write some sentences from the presentation in their worksheet.

Post-Task:

1. Students will read the composition and will put the pictures in order; then, they will write

the correct number into the circles next to the pictures.

2. Students will complete a short text with adverbs of frequency according to the

model given in the previous exercise.
