In reference to the Technical Expert I-Climate job position advertised on Ethiojobs.net I hereby subm
it an expression of interest enclosing resume and copies of credentials in the belief that my wide ran
ge of experiences fulfils the required qualification.

I have worked for more than 8 years in the mining industry working as mining geologist. I have excell
ent knowledge in working with geographical and mining databases/ore-grade modeling using Gemco
m and Surpac software in a Gold Mine. I also did environmental consulting related to a Great Ethiopi
an Renaissance Dam (GERD) in Ethiopia and several other mining feasibility studies including environ
ment impact assessment of the respective mining sites. I have a good knowledge of Python program
ming and GIS databases. In addition to my professional skills, I have data entry and analysis skills in
MS-Access, MS-Excel and MS-Word.

I got my Master of Arts (MA) degree in Environmental Studies from University of Illinois (UIS) at Sprin
gfield (USA) in May 2016. I am currently studying Masters Programme (M.Sc.) in Earth Observation f
or Environmental Modelling and Natural Resource Management (formerly LUMA-GIS) online at Lund
University, Sweden. I obtained my undergraduate degree from Addis Ababa University in Geology in
2001. I have worked, through a Graduate Public Service Internship (GPSI) Programme, as environme
ntal data intern at Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (US State Agency) from October 16, 2013
June 30, 2015. My job involved database management, data entry, query records and review of en
vironmental/HAZMAT incidents and compliance in the State of Illinois using MS Access and MS Excel
programs. I also volunteered as a GIS Intern at Sustainable Springfield Inc., a grassroots non-profit or
ganization implementing impervious surface and urban tree canopy mapping projects. My strengths
are in research, statistical analysis and mining/environmental modeling. I hope you find my credenti
