Craske, Michelle G, and Murray B Stein. Anxiety. The Lancet, vol. 388, no. 10063, 17
This article focused on general knowledge about anxiety disorders, specific types of
anxiety disorders and symptoms involved with the diverse disorders. It goes on to talk about who
is most impacted by the different types of disorders and ways the different ailments are treated.
How disorders are diagnosed and the types of materials they use to identify the disorders is
talked about, patterns involving different conditions is also discussed throughout the article.
This source taught me about different types of anxiety disorders like social anxiety
disorder and generalized anxiety disorder. This article goes with my topic because to know how
to deal with anxiety you have to know what causes it and some of the signs for different
disorders. This article also talks about who is impacted the most with different disorders and I
wasnt very shocked with results. This furthers my inquiry because it teaches me about anxiety

I know this is a credible source because its a peer reviewed article. Craske, one of the
writers, is a professor at UCLA psychology department and she also has a Ph.D. Stein, the other
author, is a professor at UCSD psychiatry department. They both seem to very knowledgeable on
topics about mental disorders and they wrote a great article on different types of anxiety
Williams, Florence. The Nature Fix: Why Nature Makes Us Happier, Healthier, and More
The Nature Fix by Florence Williams focuses on how nature affects us mentally and
physically. Humans live in a world that is constantly plugged in, most people live in cities, the
book explorers how we are impacted by the lose of nature in our lives and the positive impacts of
getting at least some time outside away from technology. The author travels around the world
and talks to professionals to figure out the science of why nature has such a positive impact on
our health.
When reading this book it made really think about how much time I spend on my phone
and how I really need to get outside more. Florence, after moving from Boulder, Colorado to
Washington D.C., goes through a nature withdraw and this inspires her to go on a journey of
sorts to figure out how nature helps humans and that getting too little of it hurts us. Since 2008
more people live in cities than anywhere else, this causes us to suffer from depression, anxiety,
vitamin d deficiency, obesity, etc. Just slowing down and getting outside can help us battle all of
this. This is

related to my inquiry because Im trying to figure out how to be less anxious and the outdoors
Florence Williams is a fellow at the center for Humans and Nature at George Washington
University, she is an awarded journalist and author and she used to be a fellow at the Center of
Environmental Journalism at the University of Colorado. She has written for National
Geographic, The New York Times, and is an editor for Outside magazine. To me this sounds like
Lehrer, Paul M., et al. Principles and Practice of Stress Management. 3rd ed., Guilford, 2007.
This book focuses on stress and different methods on maintaining it. There are different
theories discussed throughout the book, like progressive relaxation, each chapter focuses on one.
The history of the theory is told, then the authors go into details about how to properly use the
method, usually some pros and cons about it and a final reflection about the method. Some of
the methods even get step by step instructions on how to use them.
I found this book fairly useful, I think it helps answer my inquiry question. I want to be
less anxious and a lot of it comes from my stress so I want to take some of the methods
mentioned in the book, breathing exercises and meditation, into my daily life so that I can be less
anxious. The step by step guides are really great and in depth so I can make sure Im doing it
right. I liked how they also gave ways to deal with stress that didnt involve taking medicine.

citations after each chapter so I knew where the methods came from and the research done for
each.
After researching the authors of the book I found out that they all have PhDs and theyre
all college professors. Paul M. Lehrer and Robert L. Woolfolk both work at the University of
Rutgers in New Jersey and Wesley E. Sime works at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Lehrer
got his degree from Harvard University and Woolfolk has over 40 years of clinical experience.
Seeing as how all these mens careers have been about psychology and psychiatry I think they
are very knowledgeable about stress, how it affects others and different ways to treat it.
The video focuses on different people and the different types of anxiety they suffer from. The
people detail their experience with their disorder and what it was that affected them, one lady was
really scared of mice. After the people explained what their problem was the voiceover and a doctor
would go into more detail about how the body and the brain are reacting and where exactly the
I found this video helpful for my inquiry because it really gave a perspective on how
actual people feel about their anxiety rather than reading a doctors paper on how people feel.
The video went into detail about which parts of the brain are actually affected when people are
having anxiety attacks and showed diagrams which was really helpful instead of just reading

This video was produced by TVF international, a documentary producer from the UK,
they are known for their factual entertainment. The people throughout the video were talking
about their experiences and were actual people who suffer from anxiety and were just telling
Smolders, Mirrian, et al. What Determines the Management of Anxiety Disorders and Its
This article is about the healthcare system and how its handling anxiety disorders. The
care that goes into patients with anxiety disorders and how the professionals are dealing with
them is looked at throughout the whole article. When dealing with different types of patients how
is the care being delivered? They have to look at many factors of the patient and the professional,
how is the team around the professional and the organization thats delivering the care.
I thought this article was important to my inquiry because anxiety when it gets to a
professional level is at times hard to diagnose and depending on the patient can be very hard to
treat. Every patient is different and there has to be a good care system behind the doctor, not
every patient is the same and everyone should be getting the care they deserve. How to improve

system is also talked about throughout the article, they didnt just give a problem and not talk
Two of the authors of this article have PhDs, Michel Wensing and Richard Grol.
Wensing is also a professor at the University of Heidelberg, hes a sociologist and medical care
researcher. Grol is the chairman of the Department of Quality of Care at Radboud University
Nijmegen in the Netherlands. They sound very capable on making an article about the healthcare
