Vivenda da Criança thanks AmSoc

Society attended a brunch hosted
by Vivenda da Criança community
center in Parelheiros, São Paulo on
Saturday, August 14th, 2010. The
brunch showcased freshly baked goods
produced in Vivenda’s onsite bakery,
including a delicious pao de queijo,
breads, and a chocolate cake. Everything
was prepared by a local youth who was
trained as a baker at the center.
The brunch provided Vivenda an
opportunity to thank the American
Society for its on-going support during
the past decade. In particular, Vivenda
was a beneficiary of the American
Society’s 60th Anniversary party in
May, which yielded R$40,000 in
donations for Vivenda. The funds will
be applied towards helping the bakery
reach its goal of self-sustainability.

funding, was launched a few months
ago as part of a “social entrepreneurial”
