Our current worlds population is at 7.5 billion and to be estimated at 11.2 billion in 2021.
We are growing at a 1.12% per year meaning that its estimated to increase 83 million people
per year. Even though that
seems like a lot, that rate
has been the lowest it ever
has through 1955-2017.
Here is a table for a more
visual representation.
According to online resources, this declining rate is going to continue through the years,
yet this doesnt mean that food supply, pollution, and deforestation will also go down and thats
why people are upset about the idea of population explosion. People are afraid that we will run
out of limited resources, and the amount of pollution will raise with deforestation. Currently there
is 14 billion pounds of garbage being dumped into the ocean every year. Not only is the
pollution affecting the animal's environment in the ocean, but the air, as well, is pollution
affecting humans health. Apparently 92 % of the worlds population is breathing in polluted air.
Particles such as sulfates, nitrates, ammonia, sodium chloride, black carbon, mineral dust and
water are contaminating the air. In 2012, approximately 6.5 million deaths occurred worldwide
due to air quality. Much of this pollution is due to inefficient modes of transport, household fuel
and waste burning, coal-fired power plants, and industrial activities. All these sources are
caused by humans. So, the more our race increases, so will these sources leading to more
deaths, because of the quality of our air. In order for people to live a healthy live, they need to
live in an environment with clean air. From the amount of pollution is the ocean and air, this is
causing an extreme heat raise in our atmosphere causing more natural disasters to occur. Its
causing glaciers to melt, animal extensions, flooding, heat waves, and more disturbing causes.
This is one of the many reasons why people are getting upset by the idea of population
explosion.
