1)Introduction.

Childcares the caring for and supervision of a child or children, usually from 3 years old to 7
years old. Child care is the action or skill of looking after children by a day-care centre,
nannies, babysitter, teachers or other providers. Early child care is an equally important and
often overlooked component of child development. Child care providers can be our children's
first teachers, and therefore play an integral role in our systems of early childhood education.
Quality care from a young age can have a huge impact on the future successes of children.

Wildan Bestari is Islamic nursery (preschool) and childcare whereby the method being apply
called Islamic Montessori. Islamic Montessori method of teaching and childcare not only
focus on conventional study such as language and mathematic but also focus on Al-Quran
and Islamic study. Islamic Montessori is based on Al-Quran and Sunnah. Their objective to
create pre-school student comply with basic Islamic knowledge. Their syllabuses comply
with Ministry of Education and obtained license to proceed their operation. Wildan Bestari
has expand through out the year by open few new branches. Furthermore, number of student
has increase as time goes by. Wildan Bestari has provide different service compare to
conventional and Methodist Nursery. Other that service of Nursery and childcare, Wildan
Bestari also provide transit service whereby primary student from aged 7 years old to 12 olds,
will be collect by Wildan Bestari representative at their school to come Wildan Bestari to
attend class KAFA (Kelas Agama Fardu Ain) in the evening. Their speciality has attracted
many parents to send their children to Wildan Bestari. The motto of Wildan Bestari is Your
One Stop Islamic Early Education Centre.
2) DATA COLLECTION PROCESS

Interview question

We have chosen Wildan Bestari for our site visit as company in the childcare and preschool.
To get information for this company, we have conducted interview session and get the data
through examination of documents.

Before we go to site visit, we have discussed in our group to arrange an interview session
with the manager of the company. We have made appoinment by sending message and send
an email to them.

Below are the details of our conversation:

Assalamualaikum W.B.T

Regarding the above matter I am writing to request the opportunity to meet with Mr. Nazrul
Azrey on the date of 14th November 2017 by five (5) students in a group. We are the students
of University Technology of MARA Kedah in Degree of Accountancy (Hons) which on
those required by the course programme to learn about the CHILDCARE AND
PRESCHOOL as our final year project for Integrated Case Study (MAF 671) course.

After received our email, theyre replied our email and ask us to meet them on 16th November
2017 because the owner have other important meeting. Then, we have prepared several
questions to be answered by the manager. We have recorded the conversation on that day for
our reference.

1. How do you start your business? Do you start with your own capital or by taking
loan?

2. How are your marketing strategies towards getting the parent to register their children
in your kindergarten?

We also collect data through our observations. Besides that, we also gain information through
an examination of document including published and unpublished sources.

3) BACKGROUND OF THE COMPANYS ACTIVITIES.

Wildan Bestari was founded in the year 2015 by Mr. Nazrul Azrey Bin Nadzim which
hold Diploma In Education Children. With a total of 6 staff, he mangae add another branch in
2016. Activities performed in this kindergarten are teaching core subject and tadabbur Quran
activity. All students should learn tajweed law and basic knowledge of religion. Wildan
Bestari vision is to be the leader in the field of early childhood education international level.
This can relate that they are using syllabus that provided by Ministry of Education. Their
Mission is to educate and produce generation with knowledge and mannered in accordance
with the Qur'an and Sunnah. They will monitor and teach students to memorize a short surah
also help them in self-management such as teach washing dishes and cleaning the home.

They also following with the Dokumen Standard Kurikulum Dan Pentaksiran (DSKP)
which that provided by Ministry of Education. Their subject consist of 8 subject which are
Bahasa Melayu, English, Arabic, Science, Mathematics, Seni, Tajweed and Iqraq. The
number of students in the year 2017 as many as 80 students and the number are increasing
from year to year. By having people 4 qualified teachers, Wildan Bestari was able to educate
students to succeed.

Wildan Bestari also provides good facility in term of safety. This thing can help the
kindergarten to monitor all students at one time and monitor kindergarten safety. All students
will come to school at 7 AM and class will start at 9 AM. They will provide breakfast, lunch
and supper for all student. After breakfast they will recite Quran and perform dhuha before
class start. After lunch they will start Kelas al-Quran dan Fardu Ain (KAFA).

Law and regulations embodied retail industries.

Education Act 1996 (Act 550), kindergarten is defined as any place where pre-school
education (4 to 6 years) is provided for 10 students or more.

Kindergarten and nursery registration

ACT 506 Part 1 (2) The list of residential care centers or register of daycare centers as
the case may be required to be kept under section 8. The residential care center shall be
subject to section 3, any premises where four or more persons are accepted for the custody of
residents in it, either for wages or otherwise.
Responsible of Ministries overseeing childcare and preschool industry:

District Health Officer: TASKA Monitoring Examination is conducted on a team basis with
officer from Regional Social Welfare Office. For this purpose, the list TASKA in the area of
operation, determination of visit dates and related work instructions are discussed together
during a One Stop Center meeting chaired by the District Social Welfare Officer.

Ministry of Education: responsible for the development of a world-class education system


that will realize the full potential of individuals and fulfill the aspirations of all Malaysians.
They also ensure that all children in Malaysia have a fair educational opportunity. UNICEF
works with MOE to introduce life-skills education and emergency preparedness for school
children as well as rehabilitation education to Orang Asli children in Malaysia.

Department Social welfare: National Primary Care and Early Childhood Care Policy is a
policy comprehensive to ensure holistic development for all children from birth to 4 years. It
is a solid foundation for potential development children based on Malaysia's mold. This
policy is reinforcement as well complementary to the existing National Education Policy.
They provides the basis for the development of a balanced human potential and optimum in
accordance with its own reference with regard local values and international smart practices.
Develop a comprehensive curriculum for development early childhood education includes
education, nutrition and health
Practical aspect or the implementation of childcare and preschool industries in
Malaysia.

Implementation childcare and preschool in Malaysia is applicable due to development of


education for children in Malaysia. This will ensure that all children in Malaysia have fair
educational opportunity. I strongly believe that development a nation and its people begin
with early childhood education. While it is the duty of parent to ensure a child has
opportunities to develop, it is also the government responsibility to help parent bring the
potential of their children.

Since Wildan Bestari implement the new system KSPK ( Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah
Kebangsaan) will give an opportunity to them to operate as a good and competitive
kindergarten. Also by teaching and applying islamic concept wiil help their student to
enhance their skill and knowledge.

Beside, childcare and preschool industries in Malaysia will provide more job opportunity to
the community because the existence of kindergarten in Malaysia rapidly are in from year to
year. Wildan Bestari also accept student who wants to perform their industrial training in this
field. This is also one of their strategy to promote their kindergarten to the community.
4) CRITICAL SUCCESS FACTOR

When making the decision to go into the child care business we first need to consider a
variety of important factors that can help us to excel in our business. Owning and running our
own child care center can be an extremely satisfying and rewarding experience. Below are
some of the factors that contribute to the success of Tahfiz Wildan Bestari.

Firstly, the leadership role of the founder. At the early stage of the childcare, Tahfiz
Wildan Bestari was entered into a 3 years contract with the HQ Baitul Ummi that was
located in Bertam, Penang. The contract enable them to conduct the business under
supervision of Baitul Ummi . Expertise , knowledge , procedure and others skills from Baitul
Ummi were used in conducting the childcare. As a result, the time and resources was able to
manage in a way that maximizes productivity and keeps things organized.

Secondly , provide an extra subject . Tahfiz Wildan Bestari was a preliminary childcare
centre that emphasize on the knowledge of Islamic religion that follow with current
education. Besides that ,childrens were tought to memorize the surah in Al-quran .This
distinguish and add on criteria in Tahfiz Wildan Bestari with others childcare .

Thirdly, the strategic location of the childcare. Tahfiz Wildan Bestari was located in
the residential area and center of Sungai Petani . The location was easy to access which
situated beside the main road.

Fourthly , operating hours. The childcare was operate from 7am to 6pm which parents
can drop their child at the morning or at the afternoon. Some parents may want to drop
children off very early in the morning before they go to work and will want to pick them up
late, others may want to sent their child after primary school hours . So, convenient to parents
as they can sent off their children without distract their working time.

Last but not least, through their effective marketing strategy by using social media such
as facebook and blog and also advertisement using flyers, it gives a boost in their services
and reputation. More over, a promotion with discount for an early bird registration was able
to attract customers.Thus affect the childcare name as a whole. Through this marketing
strategy Tahfiz Wildan Bestari gives positive acceptance by the parents to the services.
5) Recommendations and comments

1. Comment

There are some problem in staffing requirement. Working with children involves
enhancing their social, intellectual, emotional and physical development. Major
considerations in a candidate are his or her personal qualities; attitude toward child care,
children and parents; previous applicable employment and education or other special training
. In Tahfiz Wildan Bestari, most of the staff does not have qualification related to the
childcare program and sttaff are not undergo special training in educating children.

Recommendation

Establish criteria for selecting a staff. Hired a a good personal qualities or attitude and
qualified staff with qualification in any course that related to the childcare program. Ensure
that every member of staff is properly trained, certified, and licensed to give care to multiple
children. Make certain that one caregiver does not have more children than they can handle.

Watch for signs that staff may be getting overworked. If it becomes necessary to hire another
caregiver, do so. It's better to pay another employee than risk losing clients because of sub-
par care.

2. Comment

There are lack of children equipment . At the early age , children are more towards in
playing some toys to entertain their self. Tahfiz wildan bestari do not provide any toys or
playground for the childrens . As a consequence, the children used their paper to make a ball
and any others things to make fun.

Recommendation

Provide a toys that are play-related and age appropriate and also a wide variety of items
to keep children occupied.
3. Comment

There are lack of safety. Safety always come to first. The environment of the childcare was
not properly arrange and assemble.In addition, the children was not grouped in accordance
with their age. This may cause bullying.

Recommendation

Regularly supervise the childcare environment. Make sure that all toys and equipment are
properly arranged. Immediately discard anything that might be considered unsafe. Keep
age groups separate to ensure that younger children are not getting hold of small items. And,
of course, make sure that have a fully stocked first-aid kit readily available.

4. Comment

Lack of communication and relationship between parents and the childcares workers.
Everyday, parents only drop and pickup their child without any further communication with
the workers. As we being informed , there are no effort or activities to boost relationship with
the parents.

Recommendation

Provide add-on services. When people like and trust a business they use frequently, they
often look to that business to provide a wider variety of services . So consider adding more
family-focused or child supportive services to our business. For example, run a childrens
business party during evenings or weekends at the childcare center or any other place. As a
result, able to boost relationship between parents and at the same time add more revenue.
CONCLUSION

Overall, we can conclude about Wildan Bestari by using the SWOT analysis which
compromise of the strength, weaknesses, opportunity and threat of the kindergarten.

Firstly is the strength of the Wildan Bestari. So this kindergarten itself comply with the
certain syllabus standard which also known as KSPK ( Kurikulum Standard Prasekolah
Kebangsaan), so they can maintain their syllabus and corresponding with the level of the
students especially for the Muslim students. It is because, every day Wildan Bestari will teach
their student about basic religion knowledge and ensure their student will comply in their
daily life.

Secondly, the weaknesses of Wildan Bestari are they only focusing on teaching the students
in Malay. This can be proven by our observation throughout the interview session where the
students prefer to answer our question in malay rather to answer in English. In addition,
Wildan Bestari only focuses their service toward malay community.

Thirdly is the opportunity of the Wildan Bestari. This may include the opportunity for the
kindergarten to increase the number of the students. Since this kindergarten will move to the
new location which is more comfortable and provide with new facility, this will attract more
parent to sent their children to Wildan Bestari.

Last but not least is the threat of Wildan Bestari. They got a lot of competitor around the
area they operated. So Wildan Bestari has to arrange a new strategy every year to attract more
students to joint them. This may affect financial performance for the wildan Bestari since
they have three branch in Sungai Petani.
