1 Whats new in Veritune 2.1?

Performance Improvements
Many areas of Veritune have had performance improvements,
notably in file loading time, and especially in simulation time,
which is twice as fast as Veritune 2.0.

Pilot Pollution algorithm

There is now a special UMTS pilot pollution event definition in
addition to the standard UMTS events. This has a number of
alternative algorithms. The algorithm used depends on the setting
of the Veritune > UMTS > Pilot Pollution Models preference.

Pilot Pollution Model Veritune pilot pollution occurs when...

Pilot Pollution against absolute A measurement report contains more than

EcIo threshold Uu_Scan_PilotPollution_Count_ThresholdEc/Io values that are greater
than or equal to Uu_Scan_PilotPollutionThreshold.

Too many servers against relative A measurement report contains more than
EcIo threshold Uu_Scan_TooManyServers_Count_Threshold Ec/Io values that are
greater than or equal to the maximum Ec/Io value
Uu_Scan_TooManyServersThreshold.

Pilot pollution and/or too many Either or both of the following are true:

Uu_Scan_TooManyServers_Count_Threshold Ec/Io values that are

Uu_Scan_PilotPollutionThreshold.

The RSCP value for the signal with the maximum Ec/Io value is greater
than or equal to Uu_Scan_PilotPollution_RSCP_Threshold.

Include Sector
You now have the ability to include or exclude a sector to simulate
outage. The Include checkbox shown below controls whether a
sector is active, so clearing the box removes any influence the
sector has on the rest of the network and the sector will not show
up in any statistics or simulated drive tests.

This is used to isolate the effect of an individual sector, to simulate

the effect of site outage, and to check for suitable sites for
decommissioning.

2 Known Issues

Statistics discrepancy
A slight discrepancy can exist between the Analyzer version of the
global KPIs and those from CellOpt (as seen in the Scenario
Explo rer). This is due to slight rounding noise in CellOpt's internal
calculation, which can turn -8.00dB into -7.99dB.

This effect is significantly amplified by scanners with truncated

data; otherwise, the problem is of negligible significance.

It is worth stressing that neither answer is "right"; this is a common

problem with non- linear operations like comparisons

CellOpt error has no task bar entry

If the user changes focus away from a CellOpt warning /error, then
they can only progress by using Alt+Tab to change focus. This can
be confused with Analyzer hanging.

Bad antenna data error doesn't state problem

Having an incorrect or corrupt antenna data set gives a 'Veritune
can not load the network' error.
