Course Description:

This course is about learning geometry basics and their application in the fields of Textile,
Fashion, Interior and Product Design.
Learning Objectives:

The objectives of Mathematics (Geometry) course will be as follows:


1. To give the basic knowledge of mathematics, calculations and measurements
2. Familiarization/ recognition of participants with drafting and geometry (measurement
systems)
3. To train the participants in acquiring all the drafting skills by using tools
4. To understand different methodologies of constructing various basic polygons
including reduction/ enlargement of figures, one point perspective, two point
perspective and different views
Learning Outcomes:

Upon completion of this course participants will:


1. Have good knowledge of fundamentals of geometry
2. Be able to construct different geometrical shapes with accuracy
3. Be able to construct complex figures using basic geometrical shapes
4. Be able to use geometrical knowledge in life drawing
5. Be able to use geometrical knowledge in architecture
6. Be able to use geometrical knowledge in textile and fashion design
Learning Methodology:

The learning methodology will include:


1. Lecture presentations prepared on Microsoft PowerPoint
2. Practical assignments comprising of making of different geometrical shapes
3. Short tests and quizzes
