I feel like the words used were unique and cleverly placed to rhyme.
1. Big ghost in a cloud.
2. Dragons throwing flames on my counter pane.
3. Kissy little girls, with their hair in curls.

4. PERSONAL CONNECTIONS Explain how the poems create an emotional response for
the child that encourages repeated readings. Explain with examples from the poems.
Explain with examples: I think a lot of children have fears in common and they were mentioned in this
book. Children may feel like they can really relate and this text will encourages them to keep reading
and to face their fears.
Ex: Noises down the hall.. ( Scary picture). Next page Life doesnt frighten me at all.

Visual elements: Bright colors, cartoon style
Page design and word placement, use of white/dark space, text placement and font: Every page was
covered in illustrations. The text was placed on top of the illustrations in different positions and
colors.
Explain how illustrations relate to poem content: The page would list the scary thing and the
illustration would show the scary thing.

Shadows on the wall,
Noises down the hall,
Life doesnt frighten me at all.

Explain the rating: This book speaks about common fears that children may have such as girls, first
day of school, the dark, strangers.. This book teaches children that they dont have to be afraid of life.
Think the children will enjoy sharing what they have in common with this book and with each other.
