ActiSorb S7 RS

HIGH PERFORMANCE
SULFUR GUARD

ACTISORB SERIES

Clariant, a leading company in adsorbents and catalysts,

offers a broad range of products for the purification of
gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon streams.
ActiSorb S7 RS is designed for the removal of trace sulfur compounds from liquid hydro
carbon streams, such as naphtha for catalytic reformers and isomerization units. ActiSorb S7 RS
is non-selective and efficiently removes a wide range of refractory sulfur species such as H2S,
disulfides, mercaptans and thiophenes under a wide range of operating conditions.

ActiSorb S7 RS contains a high amount of nickel with excellent accessibility due to its com
puter designed shape (CDS) and its engineered pore structure with optimized diffusive trans
port properties.

ADVANTAGES
Complete removal of all sulfur species
High tolerance for sulfur spikes
Capable to remove thiophenes and heavy molecular weight mercaptans
Longer cycle life leads to fewer outages
Reduction of costly turnarounds
Higher recovery value when recycled
Fast start-up with pre-reduced and stabilized form (RS)

BENEFITS OF COMPUTER DESIGNED SHAPE

+ 55% geometric surface area

- 22% pressure drop
Computer designed shape (CDS)

ActiSorb S7 RS

Standard nickel-based
adsorbent

Copper-based
adsorbent

ActiSorb S7 RS provides higher pick-up
H2S Mercaptans Disulfides Thiophenes than other sulfur guards.

Due to its high nickel content ActiSorb S7 RS has a much higher pick-up for all sulfur species
than standard nickel-based materials. Compared to copper-based materials, ActiSorb S7 RS
also removes thiophenes and again its capacity for all sulfur species is higher. Even for
hydrocarbon streams with high contents of thiophenes and heavy molecular weight mercap
tans ActiSorb S7 RS is well suited due to its excellent pick-up characteristics.
