ARAMA!

JAPAN
2014-2017
KYLE PHILLIPS
The logo features “ARAMA!” written in hiragana, which translates to the expression “oh my!”. I had a bit of fun with creat-
ing the name, with the thought being perhaps you’ll be saying “arama!” after reading some of our headlines. The name also
rolls off the toungue and is very disticnt, seperating us from our peers. The sky blue and white color scheme is encorporated on all
aspects of the website including the layout itself and all social media accounts.

This is the current main page of ARAMA! JAPAN. The goal was to create and devlop a layout that was clean, and easy to
naviage. Under the search bar is a ‘slideshow’ of our featured posts, generally the most news worthy articles. The ads were
placed to still be effective, while not becoming an eyesore or interrupt the user during their time on the website.

The same clean look has been acheived when viewing a single article. The right side bar features our latest exclusive in-
terview, and the current top trending posts based on page views. These features are omitted from the mobile version to
avoid cluter.

Effectively utilizing social media has been a key factor in ARAMA! JAPAN’s rapid success and growth. Pictured above is one
our ads used for a Facebook campaign targeting Asia.

ARAMA! JAPAN also has a presence in print media, in collobration with “Eye-Ai” magazine. We are featured bimonthly
in the “Spotlight” section contributing various entertainment news tidbits. Published in Tokyo, Eye-Ai is the only monthly
English publication dedicated to Japanese entertainment and culture. They have been in print for 40 years.
