AsthetopicisaboutBusstation,oncebyvisitingbusstationof
mehsanaweobservedlackoffacilitiesandmanythingswhicharestil
oldandundevelopedandstiltobemanipulated.Therequirementofthis
thingsistomaintainitsintegrityandforsufficientlylongterm.Sothat
westartedthinkingforsolutionabouthow tomakeitworthyand
comfortableforpassengers.Wefoundonesolutiontofilcrackandthat
solutionistofilcrackswithlimemortar.Inthisprojectalimemortar
useforthecrackfilingofthestructureisdemonstratedwhichmight prove to be a
sustainable and economicalsolution thattoo by
maintainingaestheticandarchitecturalrequirementoftheheritagesite.

INTRODUCTION

Engineeringisabranchofscienceandtechnologywheresociety
expectslotsofinnovationandcreativityofengineers.Buttoday’s
educationsystem hasbecomeverystereotypewhichjustfolowthe
traditionalteachinglearningprocess.Thisisoneofthechancesfor
engineeringstudenttocontributetooursociety.

Design engineering is a generalterm thatcovers multiple engineering


disciplines including chemicalengineering,electrical
engineering,mechanicalengineering,aeronauticalengineering,civil
engineering, computer engineering, information technology and
structural/building/architecturalengineers.Theunitingconceptisa
focusonapplyingthe“Engineeringdesignprocess,inwhichengineers
developnewproductorprocesswithaprimaryemphasisonfunctional utility.”

Whileindustrialdesignersmayberesponsiblefortheconceptual
aestheticandergonomicaspectsofadesign,thedesignengineer
usualyworkswithateamofengineersandotherdesignerstodesktop
conceptualanddetaileddesigns.Theymayworkindustrialdesigners
andmarketerstodeveloptheproductconceptandspecification,and
maydirectthedesigneffort.Onthefirstday,wegotthebasic
knowledgeofdesignengineering.Whatisdesignengineeringandwhy
weneeddesignengineering?
