Charlie Murphy
Eddie Murphy has
released a statement
concerning the death
of his older brother,
Charlie Murphy, who
died of leukemia on
Wednesday. He was 57.
“Our hearts are heavy
with the loss today of
our son, brother, father,
uncle and friend Char-
lie,” the actor said, in a
statement to Variety.
“Charlie filled our family
with love and laughter
and there won’t be a
day that goes by that
his presence will not be
missed.”
Charlie Murphy gained
fame on “Chapelle’s
Show.” He died in a
New York City hospital
while undergoing che-
motherapy.
