II) EMPLOYING MORE NATIVE SPEAKERS OF ENGLISH AS ENGLISH TEACHERS

III) MAKING ENGLISH A COMPULSORY SUBJECT TO PASS
IV) SUBSIDISING THE COSTS OF BOOKS IN ENGLISH
I) – creating opportunities for students to communicate in English – students are exposed to the use of English in different situations in
real-life- making English as a common language in their school life – enable them to have more confidence to use English outside the
classroom – enable them to read more English materials (books, magazines, newspapers, novels, online articles) as more information
is available in English.
II) Native speakers of English bring in the English- speaking culture to school – better pronunciation and enunciation – students have to
speak in English in order to be able to communicate with them – have no choice to speak in other language as the English teachers
might not understand them – more opportunities for students to use English more often – the English teachers may employ new
ideas or teaching methods which are different from local teachers.
III) Students have to take English more seriously – change their mindset and attitude towards learning of English as they will only get
certificates if only they passed English – they will spend extra time to drill and to brush up their language skills – they buy extra
reading tools to improve their proficiency – the school authority will work on different methods to boost the result.
IV) (subsidising=to pay part of the costs) – helps those students with financial difficulty to buy English learning materials – therefore more
