Technology prides itself as being at the leading edge in the
development of newest technologies. The mission of the
Department is to develop positive, goal-oriented engineers to
mpact the marketplace in a dynamic way. We are proud of this
mission and continually seek its achievement in numerous way
ncluding:
Leadership and character development

Over the years, our Faculty’s thriving research environment has
facilitated outstanding research and development . It has a
strong tradition of incubating research institutes and major R&D
projects. We shall continue to focus on research in cutting-edge
areas with a strong emphasis on industry relevance. The Faculty
also actively promotes transdisciplinary research in Microwave
Propagation, Dielectric Materials, Fiber Optics, Digital Signal
Processing, amongst other disciplines. We collaborate with
ndustry and strengthen them with our technologies and expertse.
We encourage students to fully embrace and take full advantage
of the rich learning environment available at this University
I invite you to explore the opportunities within the Department of
Electronics Technology. Our engineering faculty would enjoy the
opportunity to discuss our engineering programmes in more
detail. We enthusiastically welcome your interest in our Faculty
of Electronics Engineering as a potential employer. I look forward
to working with your company to ensure that the Faculty meets
its potential and delivers on its responsibility to all.

INDIRA GANDHI Institute of Development REsearch

“IGIDR is a relatively young national institute set in an international

mould. This is reflected in its cutting edge curriculum, accomplished
faculty, a vibrant student body which is diverse in its academic
background as well as national character, and alumni spread all around
the globe in leadership roles both in academia and industry. Out of 1500
or so applicants, only 35 make it through a stringent selection process.
Those selected go through one of the toughest graduate programs in
economics which emphasizes mastery of tools with an accent on
quantitative reasoning, as one cannot think about complex real world
problems without such tools. The program is unique in its emphasis on
research assistantships whereby students assist faculty in various
research projects, to gain a glimpse into Indian and international
economic problems. They are taught to handle large data sets and
analyze them using various quantitative tools, and more importantly
understand how to interpret the results. The other point which I would like
to highlight is that they are equally good in their managerial abilities - in
thinking fresh, putting across those thoughts precisely, and the ability to
lead from the front, attributes that are normally associated with top
business schools. IGIDR students are part of that rare breed that can excel
in both back office analytics and front office leadership. No wonder then
that our students are in leadership roles at American Express US, Citibank,
Household Corp., Lehman Brothers and so on and are spread all over the
world.”

Marshal University

Although we are West Virginia’s oldest public institution, we continue to look

forward
to our next challenge as an opportunity to excel. We are blessed with
dedicated faculty
and staff committed to helping students learn, grow and contribute to the
communities in
which they live and serve.
To serve as the 36th president of Marshall University is an extraordinary
privilege, one
that comes during a time of unprecedented challenge and remarkable
opportunity.
The current problems confronting higher education are formidable. Yet, we
also can foresee vast vistas, rich in possibilities for those institutions of higher
learning that can recognize and act on them.
To be relevant in the 21st century, we must create and produce value that
is evident to our students, communities and the world. This value is
manifested in the capacity and innovative intellectual work that can be
performed by our
graduates – their creativity, the market ability of their ideas and intellectual
products, their
adaptability and their capacity to continue to learn.
Our commitment, therefore, is to make the students mind market-oriented,
make
them apply and integrate what they have learned, so that it can help them
for a future of
uncertainty, ambiguity and sudden opportunity.
My wife, Jane and I are very excited and committed to dedicating our full
energy and
enthusiasm to realizing the incredible potential we see within Marshall. The
university
excels in many areas that have earned the right to greater visibility and
recognition.
We need to highlight and celebrate these achievements, regionally and
nationally.
They are beacons that distinguish Marshall University and our contributions
to
improving the world.

NIT

On behalf of National Institute of Technology, Rourkela it is my pleasure to welcome

you to this beautiful campus.
This Institute has been known for its hospitality for more than four decades, and we
strive hard to keep up the
tradition. In case we have inadvertently slipped somewhere, I offer my sincere
apologies. Our academic programme
is amongst the best in the country. It provides an optimum mix of theory and
practical, with strong bias on
industrial applications. In more recent years, introduction of modern computational
tools and digital equipments
have further improved the programme. While the depth of training in engineering
subjects is unquestioned, the
spam of our curriculum is often overlooked. The NITR graduate learns subjects across
departmental boundaries
and excels in extracurricular activities. The mix of technology and management skills
that a NITRan possesses
makes him an invaluable asset to any company he works for.
With sixteen departments awarding degrees in engineering and science, we are one
of the most diversified
institutions. Whether you are young or old as a company, whether your business is in
coal mining or in data
mining, whether the job you are offering is in the shop floor or in R&D, we have the
right engineer scientist for
you. We give you freedom and extend to you all physical facilities to carry out your
own recruitment process on
our campus. In case you have a time constraints or other inconvenience, we shall
only be too glad to meet your
selection team in another city.
Whether you have regularly recruited our graduates and post graduates, or you are
visiting us for the first time,
I am sure you will find our students very competent and you will visit us again, year
after year. We look forward
to a warm and enduring relationship.

The twenty sixth batch of PGDM students from T A Pai Management Institute
(TAPMI) will be graduating during April 2010. On behalf of TAPMI, I invite
programme.
Many of you have had the opportunity of associating with TAPMI students at
close quarters during the previous years as employer or as mentor during the
summer internships of our students. The feedback we received testifies that
those interactions were mutually fruitful and we naturally look forward to
your visit this time too. As you know, this year we have the largest, and
perhaps most enthusiastic, batch of 173 students with diverse backgrounds.
Many of them have prior work experience and I’m sure you will find them
quite equipped with the skills to take up the challenges of these turbulent
times.
Let me add a few words about TAPMI for the benefit of those Corporates
visiting us for the first time. Over the past twenty eight years of its existence,
TAPMI has maintained its reputation of having the most rigorous post
graduate
programme in management in the country. While moulding young girls
and boys as fine management professionals through this rigorous academic
programme, we are also making conscious efforts to instill a sense of
responsibility in them as dutiful individuals in the society. Every member of
the TAPMI family shares this concern for societal values. We feel that
incorporating this into the curricula is essential for creating responsible
human
beings who can develop sustainable solutions to the challenges posed by
the fast growing Indian economy. In a period when global management
education is being criticised for its narrow focus, TAPMI’s programme stands
out in nurturing and developing creators of moral, social and economic
wealth.
This brochure is designed by the students themselves and showcases TAPMI
and the class of 2010 for your reference. I hope most of your queries will
us at any stage if you need any input from our side. It will be a pleasure for
us to oblige.
We look forward to your active participation in the placement season
2009-10.
