Pre-requisite: Nil
Objectives:
To understand the importance of MIMO for future wireless communication.
To identify the role of spatial multiplexing and different diversity formats to combat the effect of
fading and to maximize transmission capacity.
To provide an introduction to advanced MIMO concepts like virtual MIMO, distributed MIMO,
massive MIMO for next generation communication.
Expected Outcome:
Upon Completion of the course, the students will be able to
Design, implement and evaluate time, frequency and spatial diversity schemes.
Analyze the various issues involved and the obtainable performances in wireless transmission.
Possess knowledge on advanced space time block and trellis codes.
Take up research in the areas of wireless MIMO communications and adaptive beam forming.
