Use MKS units.
Enter known values from your problem in the blue cells. If you are solving for
head loss the equations will calculate head loss as soon as the known values for Q,
D, roughness, kinematic viscosity, and length are entered.
If you are solving for discharge or diameter enter all other values including the
total head loss. Enter a guess for the diameter or discharge.
Use goal seek or solver to set the error in the head loss (H15) to zero by changing
either the diameter or discharge.

If more than one pipe is connected in series additional major or minor losses can
be added by copying row 3 or row 9.

Minor losses can be eliminated by setting K to zero.

The equations are available in the visual basic editor. Select View/Toolbars/Visual
Basic. Then click on the Visual Basic editor to go the source code.

The spreadsheet can be unprotected (Tools menu).
