Calls for Service
A call for service (CFS) is generated for nearly anything that an officer
does while on duty. This can include a traffic stop, residential security
check, lost child or major criminal event just to name a few. Criminal
and non-criminal incidents are documented equally. In 2017, the
number of calls for service increased by 9.5 percent from 2016.

The Calendar Year 2016 reportable crashes were an overall increase of +13 from
2015 however, there was a 100% reduction in fatal crashes and a decrease in
personal injury crashes of -12, both of the key categories in which a goal of
reduction was set and established.

CODE ENFORCEMENT
The Code Enforcement Division has the opportunity and the responsibility to
enhance the quality of life for all those who live and work in the City of
Aberdeen. They are responsible for inspecting neighborhoods and individual
residential and commercial properties to bring them in compliance with the City
Code requirements for property maintenance.
The City of Aberdeen transferred the duties of the Code Enforcement to the
umbrella of the Police Department. After an extensive search, the Police
Department hired the best candidate from a great group of applicants for our
first official Code Enforcement Officer under the command of the Police
Department.

On June 19, 2017, Martina Capelli became the face of Code Enforcement in
Aberdeen. Since that date, she has been an outstanding addition to our
agency while balancing the need for fair and impartial enforcement with the
ability to gain compliance through mutual cooperation to keep Aberdeen
looking great!
