Compressive strength of rubber powder mixtures
decreases as the percentage of replacement of
sand by rubber powder increases, for various
percentages of mixes. Density decreases as the
percent of rubber powder replacement increases,
for various percentages of mixes. Water
RESULTS absorption increases as percentage of rubber
powder content increases. Slump of the concrete
ranges from 75 to 100 mm. Modulus of Elasticity
decreases as rubber powder replacement
increases and higher flexibility was obtained.
Thermal insulation increases as rubber powder

Studies on Mechanical Properties of Tyre Rubber

TITLE
Concrete
AUTHORS
It is observed that when rubber replacement
increases, the flexural strength decreases in
concrete. The workability increase with the
RESULTS
increasing percentage of rubber. This is because
of lack of bond between rubber particle and
aggregate and hydrophobic nature of rubber.
Despite the reduced compressive strength of
rubberized concrete in comparison to
conventional concrete, there is a potential large
market for concrete products in which inclusion
CONCLUSION of rubber aggregates would be feasible which will
utilize the discarded rubber tyres, the disposal of
which is a big problem for environment pollution
Rubber can be used to produce lightweight
concrete.
