Having good command over any language is needed for people to express themselves
correctly and for effective communications. Hindi and English are the two most
popular languages in India. But English is currently the preferred language for official
communications and also plays an important role in various competitive exams
conducted in India.

With app markets having an outstanding number of

applications and the apps developing by leaps and bounds,
we may wonder sometimes – how did apps become so
popular in our lives? Even though apps have gained their
popularity only in the last decade, their history dates back
to 1983 and Steve Jobs’s prediction of a software-
distribution center that would allow systems to be
purchased via phone lines. In today’s post we will track
the fascinating history of mobile applications.
Mobile digital devices like smartphones, tablets, and even laptops have made it much
easier for learners of English as a second language to immerse themselves in constant
practice and speed up their learning process. ESL teachers who are able to
successfully implement technology, like these apps, into the classroom have an
essential skill in today’s modern world, and may be able to increase their salary and
employment opportunities as a result. ESL and TESOL teachers and learners can find a
world of useful apps for every platform to help with such crucial language learning
processes as:

 Vocabulary building
 Reading comprehension
 Pronunciation
 …and more!
Mobile apps are just one part of the picture for ESL learners. Total immersion is the best
way to learn a language. That means spending time conversing with native speakers,
and practicing vocabulary by speaking, writing, and reading will always be important.
However, mobile apps for ESL and TESOL provide an amazing addition to the arsenal
of tools available to motivate ESL learners. These are some of the best apps out there
for learning and practicing English. They’re split into general categories to make it
easier to find exactly what you’re looking for, but are otherwise presented in no
particular order.

English is the most commonly used language among foreign language

speakers. Throughout the world, when people from different nationalities
want to communicate, they commonly use English language. Therefore,
more and more people all over the world decide to study it as a second
language. Many countries include English as a second language in their
school syllabus and children start learning English at a young age. However,
to fully master English is still a challenge for many students. English might be
a popular language to learn, but this doesn't mean that it is a simple language to
master. To be good at English you need to master and use grammar, vocabularies
accurately, to self study and practice speaking, listening, writing and reading a lot. In
other words, you need to spend most of your time practicing English because total
immersion is the best way to learn a language. That’s why English learning mobile
applications has increased significantly to support students’ English learning.

The overall purpose of this research will aim to investigate the HUCFL second-year
English students’ opinions on using learning English mobile applications, the difficulties
in using mobile applications for their learning English and how they can use these
applications efficiently. More specifically,
