Professionalising Practice Project (P3);

Through conversations with students and staff and building on the work of both the
Enrichment Programme since 2014 and the Mentor Scheme since 2012, we have formed
the Professionalising Practice Project (P3).

The Project is aimed at growing students’ professional potential, which will complement
and further develop the work they’re doing in home programmes – consider P3 as the
‘nuts & bolts’ of practice. P3 provides students the opportunity to access taught sessions,
workshops and talks from industry professionals and Man Met staff in a supported
environment.

Other information:

• The SpinAwards 2018 closed last night, with 8 of our students proposing cases for
consideration. In previous years, we have won the SpinAwards which for 2 Graphic
Design students (in 2016) equated to a sponsorship deal worth £70.000 and
mentors from both Google & KLM. Fingers crossed for this year’s applicants!
• In 2015, we won at Deutsche Bank Awards for Creative Enterprise (DBACE). DBACE
was introduced by Chris Paul Daniels and he has since led the opportunity
supporting other students entering the competition, winning again in 2017 in the
Film category.
• Benzie Vertical Gallery Commissions – Supporting and exhibiting over 60
Undergraduates in the space since 2015.
• 17 out of 19 spaces filled at Marketplace Studios.
• Marketplace Studio Xmas retail Opportunity 2017 – Engagement with 25 students.
Shortlisted to a final 15 who formed the Christmas stock collection and were
supported to generate £623 in sales.
