Learn about
beekeeping
at workshops
In partnership with the
Southern Tier Beekeepers,
Cornell Cooperative Exten-
sion of Broome County (840
Upper Front St. in Bingham-
ton) is offering a beginning
beekeeping workshop at 9
a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday.
This class will prepare
attendees to get their own
honey bees this spring, with
an overview of equipment,
hive products and honey bee
management. Registered
participants will receive a
CD of the presentations and
informative beekeeping
documents.
The Southern Tier Bee-
keepers will be hosting a
hands-on session in early
spring to give attendees a
chance to work a beehive
before their purchased bees
arrive.
The cost to attend this
workshop is $25, which
includes all presenter ma-
terials. Priority for spots
will be given to veterans in
the Southern Tier.
