Autodesk® Architecture, Engineering and Construction Collection Questions and Answers

AUTODESK CONFIDENTIAL – INTERNAL AND CHANNEL USE ONLY

Autodesk® Architecture, Engineering and Construction

Collection
August 2017

Autodesk is adding products to the AEC Collection and ending the

sale of new subscriptions to some individual products.
1. What is happening?
Effective September 7th, 2017, Autodesk is expanding the scope and value of the AEC Collection to deliver a better range of
industry-leading solutions that help customers design, engineer, and construct higher-quality, more predictable building and civil
infrastructure projects. On September 7th, all current AEC Collection subscribers will see changes in their Autodesk Account and
Autodesk desktop app that reflect the new entitlements, and customers’ Contract Manager and Software Coordinator of record will
receive an email describing the new product entitlements. Existing serial numbers for the products already activated will not be
affected, and subscribers will receive new serial numbers to use for the new product entitlements.

2. What products will be added to the AEC Collection?

Autodesk will be adding the following products to the AEC Collection beginning on September 7th, 2017
• Autodesk® Advance Steel
• Autodesk® Fabrication CADmep
• Autodesk® Robot Structural Analysis Professional
• Autodesk® Dynamo Studio
• Autodesk® Revit Live
• Autodesk® Structural Bridge Design

These products will be available globally through the AEC Collection, regardless of if it is localized for a country or not.

3. Does this change the price of the AEC Collection?

The addition of these products will not change the price of the AEC Collection.

4. When will the new products be available for customers to use?

The new products will be available through a customer’s account portal by September 7th, 2017.

5. Why is Autodesk making these changes to the AEC Collection?

Autodesk wants customers to receive a better value from their subscriptions to the AEC Collection, and make it easier for them to
implement design-to-construction workflows. With these changes, we now make it easier for our customers to access interoperable
software for analysis, visualization, detailing, and fabrication that work with the core design tools they use every day.

Analysis –
With Structural Bridge Design and Robot Structural Analysis Professional included in the AEC Collection, customers have
access to software that integrates with Revit while performing structural analysis and design for almost any structure.

Structural Bridge Design also works with InfraWorks and Civil 3D to allow bridge designers and engineers to identify
workable bridge designs earlier in a project stage, quickly model bridge structures in the context the projects landscape,
then use Revit to complete more detailed structural elements of the bridge model.

In addition, customers can use the Dynamo Studio standalone programming environment in conjunction with other
software in the Collection to help solve challenges faster by automating workflows that drive the geometry and behavior of
their design models.

Visualization –
The addition of Revit Live lets customers amplify the power of the visualization tools they already have access to in the
AEC Collection. Revit Live allows customers to turn models into immersive visual experiences and even take their designs
into a virtual reality environment—all with one click of a mouse.

Detailing & Fabrication –

With Autodesk detailing and fabrications tools added to the Collection, customers can now fully extend capabilities from
design to fabrication for MEP fabrication and steel detailing. Interoperable with Revit and Navisworks, these fabrication
tools allow project teams to conceive, model and fabricate better MEP and structural steel systems on a single data
platform. The fabrication tools being added are: Advance Steel and Fabrication CADmep.

6. For which products, will Autodesk be ending the sale of new subscriptions?
Autodesk will end of sale new subscriptions for the following products, effective on the September 7th 2017 pricelist.
• Robot Structural Analysis Professional
• FormIt Pro
• Vehicle Tracking
• Structural Bridge Design

Existing customers will be able to renew their maintenance plans and current subscriptions, but they will not be able to purchase
new subscriptions after September 7, 2017. If a customer wants access to a new subscription of these products, please point out
that they are available only in the AEC Collection.

7. Will customers have access to previous versions of the products being added to the AEC Collection?
Yes, customers will have the same previous versions access rights that they did for the standalone products.

8. Will there be new M2S paths and SKU’s available to the AEC Collection?
Yes, based on the addition of these products, the following new SKU’s and M2S-eligible paths will be added to the September 7th,
2017 pricelist. These will be a very effective sales play to move maintenance subscription customers of the individual products to
subscriptions to the AEC Collection.
• Advance Steel -> AEC Collection
• Fabrication CADmep -> AEC Collection
• Robot Structural Analysis Professional -> AEC Collection
• Vehicle Tracking -> AEC Collection
• Structural Bridge Design -> AEC Collection

These new M2S SKU’s will follow the standards for M2S in general. They can only be used at the end of a customer’s
maintenance plan (an existing maintenance plan can be extended until the SKUs are available).

9. When may these changes be communicated to customers?

Beginning on September 7th, 2017-- the same day that the new products will be available to customers-- we will begin customer
communications to make subscribers aware of the new value in the AEC Collection and help them begin to adopt the workflow
capabilities supported by this new composition. As of August 7th, you may begin reaching out to customers and discussing the
upcoming changes with them.

10. How will this affect Specialized Partners that currently sell Advance Steel or Fabrication CADmep?

This will not affect the Advanced Structure or Advanced MEP Specialized Partner program or the partners that are currently
enrolled in this program. Both products will continue to be offered as standalone subscriptions through the specialization program.

11. Who can I contact with more questions?

Autodesk employees: please send an email to sales.help@autodesk.com
Partners: please contact your partner manager or raise a case or chat with Client Services
