Information in this document applies to any platform.
GOAL

The purpose of this note is to provide the steps required to create and then retire
the assets in R12 Asset Tracking where Projects is not being used.
The note is not intended to provide details of all pre-requisite setup for these
flows. More detail of this can be found in the relevant module implementation and
user guides and the notes referenced in this document.
FIX

Responsibilities for each concurrent request are given within below steps, between
brackets, in [ ]

For Depreciable Items


1. Create Depreciable Item (Stockable, Transactable, Create Fixed Asset to be
checked) in Inventory
2. Create PO and perform PO Receipt to receive item into Inventory
You should now be able to find the item instance in Asset Tracking UI
3. Run Create Accounting - Cost Management concurrent program [Cost Manager]
5. Run the Create Assets: Interface Inventory Transactions to Oracle Assets [Asset
Tracking Super User]
6. Run Post Mass Additions [Assets]
You should now be able to see the asset created and linked to the item instance
in Asset Tracking UI
7. Perform Miscellaneous Issue transaction for the quantity of the item received in
step 2 [Inventory]
8. Run Interface Move Transactions to Oracle Assets [Asset Tracking Super User]
9. Run Post Mass Retirements [Assets]
In Asset Tracking you should be able to verify that the item instance is now
expired (remember to check the Show Expired Instances check box) and that asset is
retired

For Normal Items


1. Ensure the profile option "CSE: Create Assets when issued to Field for Expense
Items" is set to 'Yes'
2. Create Normal Item (Stockable, Transactable, Create Fixed Asset to be unchecked)
3. Create PO and perform PO Receipt to receive item into Inventory
You should now be able to find the item instance in Asset Tracking UI
4. Run Create Accounting - Cost Management concurrent program [Cost Manager]
5. Perform Miscellaneous Issue to Field Location transaction [Asset Tracking Super
User]

6. Run the Create Assets: Interface Inventory Transactions to Oracle Assets [Asset
Tracking Super User]
7. Run Post Mass Additions [Assets]
You should now be able to see the asset created and linked to the item instance in
Asset Tracking UI
8. Asset should then be able to be found in Deployment screen from where it can be
retired/reinstated
9. Run Post Mass Retirements [Assets]
In Asset Tracking you should be able to verify that the item instance is now
expired (remember to check the Show Expired Instances check box) and that asset is
retired
