Course Outline
Advanced Statistics

Course Description: A comprehensive study of descriptive and inferential statistics techniques

and procedures and their application to research in education and educational management.

Course Objectives: At the end of the term, graduate students are expected to:

1. demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the various statistical methodologies

appropriate in presenting, analysing, and interpreting research data;
2. show competence in the following skills in conducting statistical research:
a. summarizing and organizing data in tabular and graphic form,
b. formulating and testing hypotheses in research,
c. selecting the appropriate statistical test in assessing the validity of a given null
hypothesis, and
d. interpret properly results of statistical analysis.
3. appreciate the indispensability of statistics not only in research but also in the various
aspects of life in the society.

Course Requirements:

 Practicum worksheets  Midterm/Final Examination

 Critical Analysis of a completed research
