Description
Easter is a Holiday celebrated by Christian people where who remember the death and
resurrection of Jesus; nevertheless, each person has their own customs, traditional food, believes
Comparison
In Australia people celebrate Easter with eggs of chocolate, hidden by Easter "Bilby". Also,
Australia has its traditional food in this celebration, it is shaped Hot Cross Buns, made with
water, flour and dried fruits decorated with a cross on. The most important event in Australia
during this celebration is “The Royal Easter Show”, an agricultural event, where farmers present
the best products of the region like fresh fruit, vegetables, grains and others.
Un Like Australia, in Ecuador there is not chocolate eggs; Ecuadorian people do not believe
in Easter rabbit nor in the eggs of chocolate. Ecuadorian take very serious this celebration so that
the majority of believers take this time for reflection. Additionally, they consume a traditional
food in Ecuador is "Fanesca", a soup which contains twelve grains representing the twelve
disciples. One of the events more important is the Procession of "Jesus del Gran Poder" held in
Quito city, in this event many believers walk during a long period of time while playing and
singing catholic songs next to the sculpture of "Jesus del gran Poder"
Reflection
All in all, in Ecuador Christian people are very devout and it attracted attention to me, while
in Australia in this date are held many cultural and social events different than Ecuadorian
celebration. This difference occurs due to the variety of culture and traditions that exist in each
country. I learned about customs and traditions of these countries and for this reason I think that
if an Australian tourist comes to our country, they will be impressed for the faith that people feel
