Minds On (Script if required)

“Alright boys and girls, today for outdoor learning we are going to be completing an obstacle course!
They are super fun, and I have tried this one and it is kind of tricky but I know you will rock it! I would
like everyone to sit down, and I will demonstrate the obstacle course for you. First, you will jump from
hula hoop to hula hoop (demonstrate this); then you will toss 3 bean bags over the outdoor chalkboard,
and crawl under it (demonstrate this); then you jump over all of the tires (demonstrate this); then you
will walk along the balance boards (demonstrate this). When you get to the end of the balance board,
you will kick the ball along the ground until you get to the cones (demonstrate this); and finally, you will
run from the cones the rope line, which is the finish line! If you are not the one completing the course,
you will be cheering on your classmates, and encouraging them as they complete the course. It is a lot of
fun to be cheered on by your friends as you try your best!”

“Everyone will get the chance to do the course at least twice. If you would like to be timed, let me know
and I can use my watch, and we can see if you can beat your time! However, you must all remember to
be very careful, especially on the balance boards; do not run, just walk, when you are on them. We are
all going to line up, and when you have completed the course, you may get back in line. Once you have
completed it twice, you may go see Ms. Wood at the equipment door if you would like to do something
else for the remainder of our outdoors time, or you may continue to practice the obstacle course. Please
line up behind ___.”
