wise option

Options were invited from candidates while applying for Junior Engineers (Civil &
Electrical) Examination, 2010 for CPWD, MES and other Departments. Vacancies have
since been received from CPWD, MES, Department of Post and Farakka Barrage. To
provide an opportunity to the candidates to exercise option again taking into
consideration vacancies in Farakka Barrage revised options are now sought from the
candidates in Form-I.

2. Considerable time is lost after nomination of successful candidates in obtaining

their options for initial place of posting by the Department to which they are nominated.
In order to facilitate issue of offer of appointment it is proposed to secure option from
candidates for states for initial posting in Form-II, place them in their dossier before their
nomination and to request the user Departments to decide the initial posting on the
basis of merit cum option. The candidates may note that the Commission will allot
successful candidates to different user Departments based on their merit, option for
Departments and availability of vacancies in the respective Departments. State wise
option from candidates will be placed in the dossiers containing their applications and
other documents and send to the Departments to which they are nominated for deciding
on initial place of posting. State wise allotment will not be made by the Commission.

3. After offer of appointment by respective Departments, they obtain attestation

forms duly filled in from the nominated candidates. It has been decided in consultation
with the user Departments that the attestation forms in triplicate in Form-III will be
collected from the candidates called for interview-cum-personality test on the basis of
their performance in the written part of the examination. Candidates may note that
submission of option in Form-II/attestation forms should not be taken as an offer of

in offer of appointment is avoided to the extent possible.

4. Candidates are advised that it is compulsory for all the candidates called for the
interview- cum-personality test to furnish their options in Form –I and II failing which the
