Product Proposal & Calendar

Introduction/Purpose:
My product will be a set of items for the W2W Empowerment group in conjunction with Chloe’s
SWOT analysis and proposal to implement a mentorship initiative in FISD with the W2W group. As
for the products I will be creating, the ones I will be creating are an online newsletter, a
presentation, and handbook, with the newsletter to help promote and inform for what the W2W
Empowerment group does, and the latter two will be for the mentorship initiative to make it more
digestible for both parties involved.

Product Breakdown:

Newsletter:

● Frequency - Monthly
● Templated
● Embedded video
● Provides history/context on the program
● Increased student engagement

Presentation:

● Cleanly introduce mentorship initiative with W2W to FISD
● Provide direction to the program
● Condense information for the introduction phase

Handbook:

● Provide a clear direction for the future of the program/guidance
● Give a starting point for the joint program’s identity
● Give easy access to the goals and regulations/protocol for the program

Expenses Overview:

The newsletter should be able to be created without any sort of fee, similarly to the presentation.
The handbook, however, will require printing and binding, which with 15-20 booklets can cost
anywhere between $45 to $61. An alternative to getting the booklet printed and bound at a printer
would be to print the pages myself or to have them printed at a professional printer and bind them
myself, which will be decided later depending on the length of the booklet.
The Process:

Creating a presentation will be relatively easy, and won’t be the biggest point of this original work,
and although the other two components will be more difficult, the creation of the individual product
isn’t the biggest mountain to climb here, so to speak. The monumental task that lies ahead is
instead creating a unified brand for not only W2W, but also what the combined W2W and FISD
brand will look and feel like.

First, however, I will have to establish the mission of W2W to start building an identity that will take
form over these products. I’ll have a series of meetings with Chloe and her mentor to establish
what the program really aims to do, along with where they envision the brand going and what
Chloe’s experiences with the program have been.

After this meeting, I’ll begin to categorize and find images to put onto a moodboard for how I think
the identity should function, and how it will mesh with FISD’s, after which I will discuss with Chloe
and her mentor on where the direction of the brand should go.

Following that meeting, I’ll proceed to make rounds of sketches starting to flesh out how the
various products will feel overall, and then delve into the details of each with the layout of the
newsletter and the overall looks and layout of the booklet, for example. All the while I will be
periodically updating Chloe on how it’s coming along for checks to ensure the direction of the
brand is on track for how she perceives it, and less frequent, but more structured updates with her
mentor as well to ensure she sees the larger milestones in the development of the look.

After completing my sketching rounds, I’ll take to the computer and digitally rough everything out
based on my pencil sketches, choosing directions to take creatively and working through rounds
and revisions, again periodically updating Chloe and her mentor with my progress until the
products are completed.

This process will be repeated for each product, and revised until each product supports the
direction of the W2W brand and create a unified theme to deliver the information required in the
most clear, concise way possible.
