DESCRIPCIÓN DEL CURSO:

Este curso posee contenidos que promueven el desarrollo de clases conversacionales con el
enfoque comunicativo. Igualmente, se promueve el aprendizaje del idioma de manera activa,
dinámica. Se utiliza el método inductivo, ya que a lo largo del curso los estudiantes deducen reglas
gramaticales, buscan aplicaciones prácticas y resuelven problemas, lo que aumenta su nivel de
comprensión. Las clases son expositivas y a su vez basadas en TBL (Task based learning). El
aprendizaje por tareas permite monitoreo, es flexible y específico.

REQUISITOS DEL CURSO

1. Comportamiento solicitado en clases:


 Mantener las normas de cortesía y respeto con compañeros y profesor(a).
 Se le pide al estudiante un comportamiento ético que incluye:
**Vocabulario,
**En caso de ausencia ponerse al día y traer su excusa en la siguiente clase que asista.
** No copiarse
** Mantener su celular en silencio durante la clase.
2. Reglas de tareas, parciales y asignaciones
 Seguir la guía de asignaciones suministradas al inicio del curso
 Entregar tarea o taller semanalmente.
 Si falta a un quiz o parcial, traer excusa escrita (Certificado médico, constancia de trabajo si
es algo ineludible) y debe presentarlo a más tardar una semana después. De no hacerlo se
le evaluará con la nota mínima, es decir cero.
 Las asignaciones y tareas deben ser nítidas sin tachones y presentadas a tinta no a lápiz,
legible arial 12.
 Si falta a un taller, debe entregarlo inmediatamente la semana siguiente de forma individual,
(estarán en la plataforma o para fotocopiar). Su nota máxima será 80 puntos,
descontándose 10 puntos por cada semana tardía.

Vestuario no apropiado para asistir a la Universidad:
No se permite lo siguiente:
 Damas: Pantalones con huecos, minifaldas, short, escotes pronunciados, camisas o
sweater de tiritas, chancletas o sandalias abiertas, gorras o sombreros, barriga afuera,
espalda afuera, entre otras prendas inapropiadas de un futuro profesional.
 Varones: pantalones a media pierna, Pantalones con huecos, sweater sin manga,
chancletas, gorras, aretes o piercings entre otras prendas inapropiadas de un futuro
profesional.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To develop English fluency.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES:
1. To model conversation by incorporating vocabulary and structures from the unit in a natural way.
2. To teach the language needed for specific functions while building communicative competence.
3. To practice pronunciation within the control of the topic.
4. To increase vocabulary.

COURSE REQUIREMENTS
1. Rules in the classroom:
--Show respect for your teachers, classmates and the whole UIP staff
--Positive attitude. Have a friendly relationship with your classmates. Enjoy the class.
--Punctuality is very important, avoid being late.
--Please turn off your cell phone. It is not respectful to have it ringing in class. If you have, an emergency tell the teacher
and sit next to the door. Do not text messages.
--Try to speak English in the classroom. Put all your effort and you will learn, little by little.

2. Rules for homework, quizzes, midterm and final exam:


***The workbook online will be evaluated as stated in the calendar, every class: points will be deducted for late delivery.
***Always come to class with your materials such as, student book, notebook and dictionary.
***The students must attend classes to comply with the quizzes, midterm and final exam.
***Participate in class and come with the homework done, ask questions, and follow instructions.

Dress code: Casual.


Unacceptable: Sandals and short pants, pants with holes, tops, belly button out and much more… We will not allow
in our classroom inappropriate dressing. (Please read the University’s dress code It’s MANDATORY)

The Arrival Time :


You should get to class ON TIME. After 5, 10, or 15 minutes you will be marked TARDY. After 20 minutes, you are
ABSENT. Three tardiness is an ABSENCE. Four Absences you will be marked NSP. Please read the University’s
policy.

2. Chronogram and the Quarterly Plan printed from the Moodle Platform.

3. LMS REPORT. Print the gradebook section every week as indicated in the Chronogram. For example, 2nd
week Unit 7 Lessons A, & B.

4. Summary of each Unit. It should be 20 lines, Font Arial 12, double space. (Write a summary page by page to
increase your vocabulary. In addition, you will watch the Unit’s videos and answer the questions given by
the teacher.
