Basic Assumption

 WorkClearance Management Basically Fits for a WP System…!

 High Reuse Potential of Existing Processes / Process Steps.

 But…?
 Itshall be Possible to Link Several Work Permits to the Maintenance Order
(or to One or Several Operations).
 Existing Data Integration of Maintenance and Safety Data within a WCM
Object shall be Enhanced.
 Representation of Maintenance Work and Safety Requirements within a
WCM Object
 Validity of WCM Objects shall be Enhanced.
 Process Controlling Functionality
 Appliance of Validity Period to One Shift; Extension for the Same Shift
 Terminology of Existing WCM Objects shall be Enhanced.
 UI of Existing WCM Objects shall be Enhanced.
Resulting Concept

 Useof the Enhanced Model (:= WCM Architecture)

 Change of existing Assignment Rule
 Work Permits are Represented by Applications
 Work Permit – Level 1 will be Represented by WCA
Permit – Level 2 will be Represented by Another Application
 Work
 Flexible UI Definition
 Arrangement of Data on Work Permit Screen is Fully Subject to Customizing
 Reuse of Flexible UI Concept for all other WCM Objects (e.g. V&B Lists)
 Resulting WP-related Customizing Settings
 Configure Work Permits
 Define Works/Requirements for WPs
 Define View Profiles for WP UI

The SAP WCM component is an open system with different WCM objects and flexible Customizing.

UI of a WCM Object up to Now

Generic object services:

different services are possible

Status processing and audit trail:

system status and user status
Assignment of partners:
different roles possible
Long text processing:
several internal remarks

Assignment of documents:
link to document management system
Assignment of approvals:
cross-document, interactive

Use of catalog technique:

catalog groups and codes
Assignment of technical objects:
equipment and functional locations

 Requirements for a WP system

 Give strong “WP flavor” to the UI  New fields, reworked terminology/titles
 Different arrangement of data groups (on screen/tabstrips)  Flexible UI
 Reuse of existing generic functionality

What is Work Clearance Management?

 Necessary maintenance work on technical objects, such as inspections,

preventive maintenance or repairs, can only be executed once all the measures
to ensure a safe working environment have been implemented. These safety
measures can include, for example, lockout/tagout, fire protection and radiation
protection.

 You can use the Work Clearance Management (PM-WCM) component to control
and monitor the safety measures. You can ensure safe working conditions for the
employees in your maintenance department, adhere to environmental protection
regulations, and guarantee the reliability of your technical systems.
