Course Description :
The course is an introduction to the history of the Philippines.The course specifically provides an overview to the growing clamor for a more in depth, responsive and analytical discussion
and narration of our country's past in lieu of the fast changing times as we head towards the future.

Course General Objectives


At the end of the course, the students are expected to:

A. Cognitive
1. Provide the students with the theories and principles in the course of history
2. Provide the students with the knowledge on thedevelopment, organization and operation of the Philippine government;
3. Strengthen the students' awareness on the formal structure for political participation and their role as citizens of the country;
4. Provides the students with the understanding on the importance of public opinion and the emergence of the civil society;
5. Reinforce the students' understanding on the constitution as the basis of all political institutions and processes.

1. Appreciate the value of politics for the growth of individuals, group of individuals, government and society.
