Things to consider when using SAP Lumira

Specify use cases carefully before creating documents

Data is everything – take your decisions wisely
▪ Access almost any data source with SAP Lumira
▪ Live or imported data?
– Big Data use cases  use live connections & power of back-end servers
– Use import for smaller amounts of data  combine data sources, requires CPU & memory
▪ Recommended: Work on aggregated & filtered data – use live scenario for transactional data
▪ Don’t duplicate data where not necessary
▪ Trade merging versus blending to avoid overloading memory
▪ Define as much as you can in your back-end systems
Don’t expect your client to perform better than your back end

▪ SAP Lumira 2.0/2.1 is legal successor of both SAP BusinessObjects Design Studio 1.x & SAP Lumira 1.x
▪ SAP recommends customers of 1.x versions of Design Studio and/or SAP Lumira to upgrade to
SAP Lumira 2.0/2.1
▪ License entitlements do not change by upgrade
▪ Some features of SAP Lumira 1.x are supported differently in 2.0/2.1, and some functional restrictions exist
