Mr. Jared Beck

Calvary Prep Academy
1740 La Costa Medows Dr. STE 105
San Marcos, CA 92078

Dear Mr. Beck,

I am interested in applying for each of the foreign language teaching positions you are looking to fill at
Calvary Prep Academy. I am a 2020 Spanish major graduate from Arizona State University. I also studied
Mandarin at Hainan University for three years and have passed the HSK 5 fluency test. Additionally, I
have four and half years of teaching experience.
As my mother, Jeanne Richardson, has been a teacher in your Spanish program for the past seven years,
I have gotten an insider view at the values, goals, and mission of this school. You pursue the highest
academic excellency for your students in all subjects. This includes employing credentialed teachers who
are fully competent in their subjects. I do have both my Spanish and Mandarin credentials. I have spent
years studying each, as well as using them in practical real-life settings. According to native speakers of
each language I am considered fluent.
As a graduate from an online school, I have a lot of experience working with online material and
classrooms. I am confident in my ability to navigate Adobe as a teaching platform.
During my five years of teaching, I have taught everything from preschool through ninth grade. I have
also taught a range of subjects including English, physical education, world history, geography, guitar
and English as a second language (ESL). Although this would be my first-time teaching either Spanish or
Mandarin in a formal setting, I am very familiar with teaching students a second language.
Finally, I know that your teachers meet one-on-one with students, and that you strive to know students
and their families well to provide the best learning experience possible. I love this method and share the
belief that this format can allow for deeper learning. My goal as a teacher is not only to convey good
information to my students, but to do it to the best of my ability in a way that is most understandable to
the individual student.
I would love to teach both Mandarin and Spanish for Calvary Prep Academy, putting to use all the years
spent learning how to use online curriculum and classrooms. The years of teaching have made me
confident that this is a job that I am able to do and would love to do. I look forward to being able to help
convey a love for these subjects so that students will have a deeper desire to learn them well. Thank you
so much for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,

Karianne Richardson
