Element Designs is a manufacturer of custom contemporary styled architectural millwork components,

yet we are much more than that. The combination of American ingenuity and Swiss precision combined
with a healthy dose of entrepreneurship across the founding partners were the ingredients of Element
Designs. As we look back at the previous 12 years, we are reminded of all of the hard work that it has
taken to reach today. When we look forward, we are very encouraged by the future of our business
which is simply providing our existing and new customers with the premier aluminum, glass and acrylic
products across the North American market.

When we founded Element Designs in 2003 and introduced the company at KBIS, we knew very little
about manufacturing of our core product, aluminum frame cabinet doors. What we knew was that this
style of door was very popular on the European market and that this trend could become popular in
the US and Canada if a reliable partner focused on lead times, quality and customer service existed to

Green Initiative
®

What does it mean to be green? For a material or product

to be considered green, it should have low impact on the
environment and therefore favor environmentalism.

Recycled Content All of our glass inserts contain at least 20% post industrial recycled content and the
architectural resin uses a high percentage of post industrial material.

Regional suppliers Our aluminum products are manufactured with materials from regional suppliers thus
reducing our carbon footprint.

Exceptional Durability Our aluminum products have an extremely long life time and are virtually
maintenance free.

No VOCs Our aluminum doors, PARAPAN solid surface doors, eluma products and base systems do not
contain VOCs. Because no chemicals or toxins are released from our products, there is zero effect on indoor air
quality. Our backpainted glass utilizes water based paint which is low in VOCs and is safe for the environment.

Post Industrial Waste Recycling All of the waste generated during our manufacturing operations
(primary materials such as aluminum and glass) is recycled. The aluminum extrusion is taken to a local metal
recycling facility. Unusable glass is reused in asphalt production.

Recyclability and Reusability Our aluminum, glass and acrylic materials are completely recyclable.
Our aluminum doors can be reused rather than discarded by simply replacing components (new inserts for
existing doors).

Reclamation We offer a recycling service for all of our products once their useful life expires. Send your
product back to us to be completely and properly recycled.

Packaging Materials Our corrugated edge wrapping, which protects our products in transit, is made
of 100% recycled cardboard and our corrugated boxes have a high recycled content.

Company Recycling It is very important for our company and our employees to divert waste from our
landfills whenever possible. We recycle all cans, glass and plastic bottles, office paper, paper products and
cardboard at our manufacturing facility in Charlotte, NC, thus reducing our carbon footprint. We actively
promote the importance of environmental responsibility and are proud to sponsor a recycling center for our
industrial park.

Aluminum’s inherently sustainable characteristics combined with the extrusion process make
extruded aluminum the green building industry’s material choice for now and the future.

and panels add reflective and vibrant
color to commercial and residential
interiors. The simplicity of the product
allows the mirror like finish and color
to highlight all design compositions.
PARAPAN® is UV and fade resistant
which means that whites won’t yellow
over time and colors won’t fade, even
in direct sunlight or harsh lighting.
PARAPAN® is an extremely

environmentally friendly surfacing

material because it contains no

plasticizers or VOCs. There is no

negative effect on indoor air quality

where PARAPAN® doors and panels are

used.

Unlike other high gloss finish doors,

minor scratches can be removed

through buffing and polishing as

a result of the high quality solid

surface composition. Because of

the exceptional material quality,

PARAPAN® doors are the most

durable high gloss, solid surface

doors on the market today.

The solid material is also water

proof and warp resistant which
makes it ideal for even the most
humid environments. These
qualities also make PARAPAN® a
durable product for outdoor living
applications where temperature
extremes and weather prohibit use

of conventional cabinetry products.

composition is UV and fade

resistant and will retain its vibrant

color indefinitely. Direct sunlight

and harsh indoor lighting will

not affect the PARAPAN® colors

through the life of the product.

Any minor surface damage

can be easily removed through

polishing and larger scratches can

be sanded away which makes

PARAPAN® a durable high gloss

cabinet front solution for any

Note to Specifier:
Thank you for considering PARAPAN in your project.
PARAPAN is the highest quality high gloss door on the market
and should be designed in at a premium level. Parapan
is solid acrylic (PMMA) which yields a perfect mirror type
finish with negligible distortions on all surfaces. PARAPAN
is homogenous in nature meaning that it is solid acrylic
throughout and maintains constant color throughout the
entire cross-section. As such, the product is repairable
and absent of adhesives, fiberboard, edge banding and
undesirable by-products associated with adhesives . Due
to its solid state, PARAPAN can be submersed and it will not
delaminate, warp or degrade in humid environments unlike
other constructed high gloss alternatives. When designing
with PARAPAN, please specify: solid, homogenous, acrylic
(PMMA) throughout, low VOC emitting, UV fade resistant,
water impervious characteristics to prevent substitutions of
inferior high gloss materials. Substitution with products of
laminated construction are not permitted.

º 78
Technical specifications subject to change
PARAPAN® has a smooth and non porous surface. This means that dirt
does not adhere to it. When cleaning, use lukewarm water with a few
drops of mild dish detergent. It is recommended that a soft, lint free cloth
be used for cleaning PARAPAN®. The cloth should be thoroughly rinsed
before use. Do not use scouring powders or other abrasives. Do not
use products containing any oils. Components made from PARAPAN®
surfaces must not come into contact with organic solvents such as
thinners, alcohols, fuels, acetone (nail polish remover), benzene or carbon
tetrachloride. Do not wipe away dust with a dry cloth.

Removal of Marks
Polishing removes marks such as scratches and seals the surface. Polishing
should only be done after PARAPAN® is thoroughly cleaned and dried.
Never use paper towels to clean or dry PARAPAN® as they can cause
fine scratching on the sheet surface. Deep scratches can be removed
by progressive step wet sanding, finishing with an 800 grit abrasive, prior
to polishing.

Finish Maintenance
We strongly recommend ACRIFIX™ AC1010 plastics cleaner, made
especially for PARAPAN® and available from Element Designs. The
cleaner prevents electrostatic buildup and makes PARAPAN® easy to
clean.

Further care, fabrication and bonding instructions can be found in

the Element Designs’ PARAPAN® Technical Manual on our website:

product developed by Element Designs in

conjunction with Tresco Lighting. The patented

technology enables full height adjustability,

which has been virtually impossible with existing

illuminated shelves on the market. °eluma is the

first and only light panel to combine the latest

technology with superior design, complete

flexibility, full customization and quick lead times for

a vast array of applications.

°eluma inspires dramatic yet functional design in

hospitality environments. Both new construction

and simple retrofits are easily accomplished

because °eluma is a fully custom product. The LEDs

emit zero UV rays and generate virtually no heat

in the °eluma system making it the ideal product

for the food & beverage industry. Tempered glass

allows for a significant load capacity per shelf.
