Architecture Guidelines

STUDIO (S+)
Use  Studios will be used by the Broadcasters to install their own studio sets,
backdrops and technical lighting equipment to create a landscape that will be
used to record television shows. The studio must not be affected by sound
coming into the room, or sound bouncing around the room.

Size  Free spans up to 10.50m without vertical support must be possible.


 Free height below ceiling at least 5.00m.
 Free height below lighting grid between 3.50m and 4.50m.
 The free space between ceiling and lighting grid will be used for AC ducts.
Floor (SF)  Acoustically disconnected from hall floor; fully horizontal surface with
maximum elevation differences of 0.5mm.
Partition (SP)  To acoustic specs below.
 Black internally and neutral colour externally.
 Holes required at ceiling level for air conditioning supply ducts and cables to
enter.
Ceiling (SC)  To acoustic specs below.
 Ceiling holes required for the installation of air extract units/ducts.
 Lighting grid below ceiling, maximum load 40kg/m2.
 Lighting grid of metal or aluminium bars (Ø~40mm), in two directions axis to
axis ~1.00m in both directions.
Doors (SD)  To acoustic specs below.
 Single and/or double door, to open and close quietly.
Transmission loss  45 dB (as average over the different frequencies).
Reverberation time  In 500Hz frequency 0.5 sec.
