Due to the alarming result (Only 68 out of 118 or 57.63%)

of the First Periodical Test in Araling Panlipunan of the grade
V pupils of Tabang Elementary School, the Araling Panlipunan
teachers of the school came up with an idea of making an
remediation program that aims to increase the number of
pupils that will pass the Periodical Test in Araling Panlipunan
V. After several meetings of the CIP Team, they had found out
the root causes of the problem which are the following:

• The Pupils are not motivated.

• Instructional Materials are not attractive enough for the Pupils.

• Lack of Activity sheets and fund to supply those.

• Parents are busy.

• Guardians are not knowledgeable enough to teach the pupils

how to read.

Because of these root causes, the CIP Team had developed a

solution which are the following:
• Encourage the pupils to learn in the setting that they would not
get inferior. So as learning with the pupils with difficulty like
them.

• Provide attractive visual materials.

• Prepare activity sheets suited to the content of their curriculum

and textbook in Araling Panlipunan.

• Teachers will teach them lessons in Araling Panlipunan using

different teaching strategies.

• Teachers will prepare remediation program having all of these

issues. covered.

Project A3P is a helpful remediation tool for teachers

especially in Araling Panlipunan subject. It aims to increase the
retention level as well as the academic performance of pupils
who find Araling Panlipunan as a boring and difficult subject.
This program utilizes a tool named, Project SPA (Siguradong
Pasado Ako) sa AP which consists of varied individual activities
related to the lessons in Araling Panlipunan V.

The Piloting of the Project started last October 9 to November

10, 2017 which catered 20 pupils from Grade V-Emilio Aguinaldo.

After Piloting Solution, 17 out of 20 or 85% of the pilot pupils

who are involved in the program have passed the Unit Test and 3 out
of 20 or 15% of the pilot pupils have failed on the Unit Test.

With the following data obtained through Piloting, the CIP

Team decided to utilize the Project A3P as the main strategy in the
Remediation Program.

Using the same strategy, the remaining 37 pupils have undergone

Remediation Program which is the actual Roll out which started last
November 13 to December 15, 2017.

Problems were inevitable along the way, pupil’s inconsistent

attendance, tardiness of some pupils, school activities (like Scouting
and drum and lyre practice) that hindered the remediation period as
well as uncooperating pupils just to name a few were problems
encountered that hindered the implementation but the CIP team was
able to managed.

After Rolling Out Solution, 33 out of 37 or 89% of the roll out

pupils who are involved in the program have passed the given Unit
Test after utilizing the SPA Tool in 3rd Quarter. While, 4 out of 37 or
11% of the roll out pupils didn’t passed on the given Unit Test.

By the first week of January, 2018 after the checking of

progress, the CIP Team had found out that after rolling out solution,
33 out of 37 or 89% of the roll out pupils who are involved in the
program have passed the given Unit Test after utilizing the SPA Tool
in 3rd Quarter. While, 4 out of 37 or 11% of the roll out pupils didn’t
passed on the given Unit Test.

With this result, it would surmise that, the implementation of

Project A3P became a success.
