I. BACKGROUND OF THE PLANT VISIT

Fifth Year Mechanical Engineering Students of Batangas State University
Subic-Bataan-Pampanga Plant Tour

Venue and Date:


PACTEC / March 12, 2018

Objectives:
 To be familiar of participants in the assembly line of PACTEC
 To discuss the packaging history of the company
 To know the participants in the major products of PACTEC

General Participants:
The 5th Year Mechanical Engineering Students and Professors of
Batangas State University.

II. PROGRAM AND HIGHLIGHTS OF ACTIVITIES

 Discussion about PACTEC, market profitability and process of their


packaging.

III. IMPLICATIONS TO STUDENT AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

PACTEC is the industry front-runner in the design and manufacturing of


packaging for the waste and transportation industry across the globe.
Products consist of spill containment berms, dewatering filters and tubes, IP-
1/IP-2 lift bags, specialty nuclear products, tarps, liners and more. There
corporate offices are based in Clinton, LA with sales and supply locations
worldwide. They also own and operate industrial facilities in Subic Bay,
Philippines and Clinton, LA. They are easily transported by rail, flatbed, dump
truck, intermodal containers and barges
The plant tour started with the seminar discussing what kind of industrial
plant we are about to see. A short discussion of about the history of PACTEC
is included in the seminar. Short video presentation made by the late owners
of the company are shown to the participants of the tour. After the
presentation the personnel take us in the production and he show us the
different department of the processes of their packaging. The materials used
in the packaging for waste and transportation industry are highly quality
because one of their product can contain a nuclear thing and hazardous
materials and tarps are not easily torn apart because of their innovative
technique of packaging. With over 14 current US and British patents, they
have a reputation of increasing innovative solutions for today’s problems.
