we chose to go to Malioboro in Thursday,
and prepared for the topic. When we arrived at Malioboro, we started to looking for any
foreigner that looks like didn’t in any busy situation. After two hour, we have explored
Malioboro and we have been complained by the café owner, we decided to go to 0 km by
foot. After we arrived at 0 km, unfortunately we still couldn’t find any foreigners and decided
to go back to Malioboro and rest for a moment. In the next hour, while we sat and took a
breath, we saw a couple foreigners were sitting on the chair. When I asked them about our
assignment and we want to interview them about 15 minutes, the woman was agreeing us but
her husband didn’t. Then, she asked her tour guide, and she was okay to help us.

Who is she?
Her name’s Mrs. Yani, from Holland. When
I asked her name, she just mentioned her
age. She said that this year, she is 61 years
old. This is the first time she came to
Yogyakarta. She said that she has been in
Indonesia in this 3 weeks, and still continued
to another 3 weeks for touring Indonesia.
She said that she started touring Indonesia from Jakarta with her husband.

Places that have you been visited in Indonesia

As she said earlier, she was starting from Jakarta, and then Bandung, Malang, Pacitan, and
Yogyakarta. She said that she couldn’t choose a place in Indonesia to be her favorite place,
because all place in Indonesia is so beautiful, and she said in Indonesian language, “bagus
bagus”.
How about Bali?
When I told her about Bali that has many beautiful beach and many more, she said that she
doesn’t really like Bali because it’s so crowded there, from the traffic and the people.

The Weather between Holland and Indonesia

She said that in Holland now, the weather is so cold that she
must wearing the thick clothes and feels so heavy to do
something outside the house. And today, when we did the
interview, the weather was sunny and a little windy and she said
she like it. She said that Indonesia, the weather is so warm and
comfortable to do more, like go to work, take a walk, shopping, and many more she can do in
the warm weather.

The Indonesian Food

When I asked her about Indonesian food, she suddenly lifted her thumbs up and said, “bagus
bagus..”. She said that she like some of Indonesian food, and her favorite food is Padang
food.

Her Opinion about Indonesian Traditional Style

She said that Indonesian traditional style has its own unique and its own characteristics such
as the pattern on the clothes. Just like in Holland that has its own unique and characteristic in
traditional style.

About Movie and Serial Drama

She said that sometimes she likes to watch the Indonesian movie, but she doesn’t really
understand the language. In her country, she knew that there’re many serial drama, but she
doesn’t really like to watch because she like to read books rather than watching.

Her Opinion about Indonesian Politic and President

She knew a little about Indonesian politic, such as Golkar and Megawati, and also the big
animal on the flags, but she doesn’t know what’s going on. She said that the president now is
sympathetic.

Comparison between Indonesian and Holland in Traffic and Policy

She said that in Indonesia, there are only two roads, and in Holland there are four. When in
Indonesia, the traffic is so crowded, rather than in Holland that the traffic is more structure.
And when somebody wants to pass the other, they must do it on the outside, not in the inside.
Same with Indonesia, that when you do something wrong, the police will stops you and you
have to pay a lot of money.

Her Opinion about Malioboro

She said that she really like this place, but her husband doesn’t because too crowded. She like
that in Malioboro, many different of everything that can fix together, the stuffs they’re
selling, you can eat, shopping, and sit while watching people. Indonesian people: She said,
“bagus..,” and lifted her thumbs up. And she said that when you ask something, they’ll help
and try fix it; When they ask you like transportation and you say, “no, jalan-jalan,” and it’s
okay, they wont follow you while say, “mrs.. mrs..”.

Opinion about Relation between Indonesia and Holland

She said that she knew about the history between Holland and
Indonesia. A long time ago, Indonesia was part of Holland. And
when many Dutch people like to go to Indonesia, like Malang, it’s
because Indonesia is piece of home and feels like home.

Conclusion
In Holland, the traffic is more structure than Indonesia, but from
the policy between Indonesia and Holland are same that when
somebody do something wrong on the street, he must pay a lot of
money.
As Dutch people, Mrs. Yani knows a little about Indonesian
parties, and respect the President, and also she knows about relations between Indonesia and
Holland based on history; and as like she said that she likes Indonesia because it feels like
piece of home.
