Goals & Objectives:
• Increase overall awareness of Georgia Tech softball’s home opener
• Increase student attendance
• Increase involvement with local youth softball teams
• Improve overall fan experience
Target Markets:
• Students:
o 63% Male, 37% Female
o 25% Greek (32 IFC fraternities, 9 CPC sororities, 8 NPHC organizations and 7
MGC organizations)
o 400+ on-campus student organizations
• Atlanta Softball Community:
o 6U – 12U
o Metro-Atlanta to Cobb
o Leagues, teams and clubs
Strategies:
Increase overall awareness of Georgia Tech Softball’s home opener
• Social Media: create Facebook event, tweet graphic with information about the game
and share posts on main Georgia Tech Athletics social media accounts
• Website: post promotional schedule
• PA: make announcements accompanied by video board slides at men & women’s
basketball games
• Email: send a save-the-date to the Ticket Office and softball mailing lists, students,
softball alumni, youth team contacts, current & past season ticket holders, Junior Jackets
members and previous softball camp attendees
• Flyers: distribute flyers around campus, at Lennox Mall and Phipps Plaza
• Postcard: Mail save-the-date postcards with a note from Coach Morales to softball
alumni, youth team coaches, current season ticket holders, Junior Jackets members and
previous softball camp attendees
Communication Plan:
December:
• Begin reaching out to youth teams
• Begin partnering with on campus organizations
• Promote Softball Fan Day, register kids for skills clinic
January:
• Release Promo schedule
• Begin basketball PAs
• Create Facebook event
• Post meet-the-team graphics on social media throughout the month
• Softball Fan Day
February:
• Begin social media countdown
• Mail postcard
• Email the save-the-date
Week of:
• Flyer on campus & at the mall
• Post game day graphic on social media accounts
• Have players table, post on personal social media, visit large classes and visit on-campus
organizations’ meetings
