Students will use the websites above to access the comic strip learning activity and the information for one of
their worksheets they will complete and turn in. These assignments will be turned in to a dropbox on the
teacher’s website. A sample of the Comic Strip and research Worksheet are below on page 4 and 5.
Introduction:
Begin by showing them a funny comic when entering the class. It can be shown on he whiteboard or
projector.
The teacher will ask the students to write down what they think the comic means.
Students will then share with their groups their ideas. After everyone has had a chance to speak, the
teacher will call on a few students to share with the class.
Follow this with a quick discussion about Earth’s landforms and oceans by reviewing the material
learned in past days of the week.
These activities for this lesson will be performed after learning about the subject. It’s a “fun day” lesson.
Procedures:
The teacher will assign the students to their computer and dismiss them from their groups to their
computers. The teacher will then pass out the worksheet for the website.
The first assignment students will complete will be the worksheet that corresponds with the website
provided.
Students will work through the video on that site and complete the worksheet by answering the five
questions.
While students are doing this, the teacher will be opening the dropbox and answering any questions the
students have at this time.
Once students complete the worksheet, they will be cleared by the teacher to begin doing their comic.
The teacher will take up the worksheet the students completed.
The teacher will pass out instructions on how to get to the website for the comic.
Students will make a comic using six terms from the lesson the day before.
Using the terms, students will make a creative, funny comic about earths landforms and/or oceans.
Once they complete this, the will submit it to the dropbox on the teacher’s website.
Closure:
Students can volunteer to share a fact they learned from the research. At the end of class, the teacher will
check the assignment submissions to the dropbox. After doing these tasks, the teacher will ask for any
other questions before students are dismissed.

better on more.
For those falling behind, the assignment will be adjusted to be simpler for them so they can stay with the
rest of the class. Those who exceeding will be paired with those falling behind so they can encourage
