Introduction to Yamaha Academy Concert

The writer has participated in her semester 6 concert on 22th July 2017, Saturday
at 5-7pm. It was held in Yamaha Music School Festival Hall, Kelana Jaya. The
report is done based on this concert. Following are the topics that the writer is
going to talk about: performance involved, background of Yamaha , theme of
concert, objective of concert, committee involved, program of concert, marketing
activities, , OKU disable facilities , evaluation and conclusion.

Theme of concert

The theme of the concert is Music in the Air and is a freestyle music to choose
from. Freestyle music is heavily influenced by Latin music with respect to
rhythms, brass and horn and keyboard part. The keyboard part is often elegant and
clever, with mainly short melodies and countermelodies. The theme of the lyrics is
usually romantic with a positive message The topics developed is not overly
complex and based on a emotional response. The concert will be performed with
solo, instrumental, choir and string ensemble and band performances. The
performances features Tibet folk song , modern songs such as longest film by Jay
Chou, 20th century jazz song, singing in the rain and I got rhythm and gospel music
I waited for the lord.

Objective of concert

The objective of the concert is to expose the students to perform in front of a


crowd. Also, the student will learn to cooperate with their classmates and solve
problems. Besides, the students will also learn to expressing their emotion while
connecting with audience. Moreover, through this concert, students is given a
chance to build their reputation and act as a platform for their future career.
Furthermore, student’s parents will also has a chance to expose themselves to
different kind of music through this concert. On the other hand, it showcase the
performance talent and motivate the younger children to learn music. Besides, it
give opportunities for the local audience to experience the arts. Moreover, it
educates the kids and adults on different genres of music. In addition, it supports
arts practice from all cultures and provide a understanding to the background of
music. Lastly, it speak up for the arts in all their forms.

There are 29 students involved in vocal ensemble and the conductor is Chai Mee
Mee. During weekly practice, the student are require to practice the pitch and
rhythm in groups before the class start. A few senior are joining the choir to back
up the junior. Near the end of semester, there is a midterm test and the teacher will
marked the score according to the performance.
