Gk Folks Foundation is a non-profit organization bridging transformative Leadership and Entrepreneurship Skills to empower African Youths,
their families and communities with the goal of elevating their quality of life.

100% of our team are volunteers who are dedicated towards instigating positive change for our African communities here and abroad.
You can transform the lives of an entire African community by changing the life of one African youth here in the US. Each dollar you donate goes
towards educational and or entrepreneurial enhancement to Africa, one youth at a time.

About US:
GK Folks Foundation, a Non-profit established in 2011 was strategically created with the aim of empowering African youths through
a variety of transformative methods. This organization deliberately provides entrepreneurial skills, advanced leadership training and
scholarship opportunities to aid African students to successfully complete their educational endeavors here in the United States. While
strategically showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the African continent, GK Folks Foundation creates a sustainable bridge to
elevate the quality of African youths and their families through their clean water project, educational initiative partnerships and their
unwavering quest in empowering the African youths a set of skills and abilities to lead innovative missions of positively empowering
their communities.

The People: Meet the Team

TEAM BIOS
Zola Adjei: Marketing Coordinator

Zola Adjei joined GK folks Foundation in 2013 as a Marketing Specialist. She is responsible for the marketing,
communication, and developmental efforts of the foundation. Professionally, Miss Adjei is an accomplished Civil Engineer
with extensive marketing experience and managerial skills. Prior to joining GK Folks Foundation, she worked as a civil
engineer with Barrick Gold Corp.
An adept researcher, Miss Adjei has authored and coauthored several publications. She holds a BS in Engineering from
Brigham Young University and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Civil Engineering. In her free time, Zola enjoys
travelling, cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family.

Nana Akofua Adjei: Marketing / Talent Coordinator

Nana Akofua has been involved with GK Folks Foundation since 2013 when she represented her country Ghana, in the
Miss Africa Utah Scholarship Program. In subsequent years, Nana has dedicated a tremendous amount of time working
with the organization, and currently serves as a marketing /Talent Coordinator. Her enthusiasm for promoting education in
youth is a springboard from the educational opportunities she has attained in her life. Nana graduated with a Bachelors of
Science degree in Biology from Brigham Young University, Hawaii in 2012, and also holds an associate degree in
chemistry. She has worked at Nelson Laboratory as a lab analyst. She currently lives in Utah with her husband. Nana
enjoys cooking, reading, knitting, singing, and poetry. She's is also pursuing a Masters in Public Health at Brigham Young
University and looks forward to instigate fundamental changes in communities of Ghana.

Gifty Pokuaa Abankwa : Chief Pageant Officer

With her desire to help others and make a difference wherever she goes, Gifty has done work with Rotary International,
The Arbinger Institute, The Embassy of Ghana, GK Folks Foundation, among others. She is a Master of Business
Administration from Utah Valley University with a Human Resource Management focus. Gifty graduated from Brigham
Young University-Hawaii with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Cultural Studies (Communications) and a
Certificate in Intercultural Peacebuilding. She also has an Associate of Science degree in Media and Communications
from Salt Lake Community College where she graduated with honors. She currently is the Chief Pageant Manager for GK
Folks Foundation and worked with the organization since 2013. She was born and raised in Ghana, West Africa and is a
certified mediator. Gifty currently lives in Nashville, TN with her husband and she loves to cook, sing, dance and learn
new things.

Odeh Ondoma: Entertainment Director

Odeh Ondoma is the best African DJ in Utah. He is originally from Nigeria, and has been in the
music industry from childhood. At an early age, he lead a church choir for various competition
and won several times. Music, acting, and comedy were his hobbies in Nigeria, but he has since
made it a profession and part of his day to day life here in the United States.. As the best African DJ in Utah, Odeh has
developed the talent of being an MC, a comedian, and a DJ simultaneously. Odeh is a born
comedian. He is a funny and down to earth individual who loves music. His passion for music can be felt from the various
selections he has and skillfully plays during his events. An inspirational musician, Odeh loves to see people dance, he
believes that music and dance makes people come alive. It is this belief that ignites Odeh’s passion and propels his desire
to initiate dance through music as a way of bringing out the best of others. The power of music and dance completes
him.

Jane Seegmiller: Public Relations Director

Jane Seegmiller is from Ghana and earned a Public Relations degree at BYU. A consummate PR
professional, she works at Franklin Covey in Salt Lake City, where she has worked on numerous
projects including gathering endorsements for the 25th edition of The 7 Habits of Highly
Effective People. Jane also had several article placements in the Deseret News, Salt Lake Tribune,
Associated Press, amongst others. As a contestant in the first ever Miss Africa Utah Scholarship Program, Jane captured
the 4th position of the nine outstanding delegates. Presently, as the Public Relations Director of GK Folks Foundation,
Jane has and continues to bring awareness, media attention, and invaluable placement to Miss Africa Utah Scholarship
Program. Jane is married and lives in Taylorsville, Utah with her husband.

 $5 provides clean drinking water for a household of three in Ghana

 $25 added to the scholarship fund to award participants

 $50 added to scholarship fund and can provide a text book

 $100 GK Folks Foundation will match this amount to cover transportation and registration fee for the current queen to attend
appropriate conferences
