BACKGROUND and RATIONALE:

● The key concepts for these lesson are to learn to take numbers and apply them to objects in order to
count how many objects the child see in front of he/she. What are the key concepts for the lesson?
● The critical academic language is counting number in order.
● This lesson connects with and builds on the previous lesson because student where told to identify
objects and what they do and now we are counting how many object there are that are a like or not alike.
● Students will need to know how much of a certain things there are for the future.
● I need to plan differentiated activities and assessments in order to show students that just because the
amount and objects change they will still need to know how many there are.

PROCEDURES AND TIMELINE:

● Introduction: Students will be able to use the computers to complete tasks, playing games and filling in
worksheets. This will keep them on task getting to use technology that they usually do not get use in the
classroom.
● Procedures: Student will go to the computer lab. They will then log onto the computer and click on the
internet icon. This student will then be helped but pulling YouTube up and searching for the video that
has been listed in the lesson plan. The student will watch that for 11 mins. Once the student is don’t
watching the video they will then play the game 10 mins on the website provide in the lesson plan.
Students will them print and fill in the worksheet for about 15 mins and then turn it in to the teacher.
Students will then pair with one other student to complete the comic for adding objects together.
● Closure: I plan to close the lesson with student completing a Comic strip of what they have learned.
