Mid-Semester Book Talk

Dual Enrollment English 111/112

Name: Due Date: Day Month Year

Instructions:
Thus far in the semester you should have read at least three of your six books. Through your
book clubs you have had the opportunity to informally share your reading with your peers. Now
you have the opportunity to formally share a book that you are excited about and enjoyed with
the entire class through a Book Talk.

A book talk is a short (generally no longer than three minutes) presentation where you share a
book that you love with an audience (in this case your classmates) and argue for why they
should also read the book.

Your talk can take many different forms, from you standing in front of the class talking, to a short
skit, to a video: whatever you feel comfortable doing. It is also expected that you will include
some kind of visual aide.
