Lesson Renewable energy No of 26
unit/page students
Context of the lesson
The lesson is about renewable energy, its connected to the previous lesson “sustainability” and this lesson will include
the renewable energy such as, wind energy, solar energy and ocean energy.
Teaching goal.
My teaching goal is to make the students have an idea about renewable energy and how can we use the renewable
energy in our lives.

Learning objectives.

- The students will be able to identify the meaning of renewable energy.

- The students will be able to recognize the renewable energies (wind energy, solar energy, biomass energy)
- The students will be able to create a renewable energy.

Assumptions about prior learning.

The students may have a background knowledge about renewable energy.

Anticipated problems and possible solutions

- Technical problems in using the laptop.
- Solutions: bringing another laptop in case.

Personal focus for this lesson

- Time management in how to give a certain time to each activity.
- Behavior management in how to get the student’s attention.

Target language Teacher language

- Renewable energy
- Wind energy Greeting the students “Good afternoon students”
- Solar energy
- Biomass energy Warming them up “today we will have an interesting
lesson you might have an idea about”

Motivate them by reminding them of “star of the lesson”

which I will be giving them by the end of the lesson.

Main tasks or activities. Resources and teaching aids.

First activity: - A3 papers

The students will do a research according to their - Powerpoint slides (for the pictures)
questions on their papers. - Scissors
- Glue
Second activity: - Colored papers
The students will create a wind turbine that shows - Pins
how - Straws

Consider these grouping strategies: Consider where the children are working:
- Pair work
- Individual work - Classroom (on their chairs and desks)

Lesson plan reflection

Areas of strength:

The good things that were in the lesson is the engage activity where i showed the students pictures of kind of
renewable energy, and they had to predict what does each energy called and after that each group had a
paper with three questions that they have to answer by doing a quick research about it, and after that they
will discuss the answers with me.
Areas of development:

The things that need to be developed for the next lesson is the elaborate activity, even though it was creative
and fun for the students, i wasn’t able to explain my point of the activity because the bell ringed while the
students are doing the air turbine, so the point of this activity was that the students will be able to know that
the wind turbine helps us to have a pure air and it reduces the pollution from the earth. The other thing that
needs to be developed is my time management, i have to manage my time very well in the lesson to get
every part of it well done.
