Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)

I will introduce the lesson by asking the children about animal habitats. We will discuss the desert and ocean today
and make comparisons between both habitats-

 What animals live in the ocean?

What animals live in the desert?

 What the weather is like in each habitat?
 What do animals need to survive in each habitat?

I will show the children a video of the ocean and a video of the desert and the animals that live in each habitat.

 The children will work in small groups. They will have two pieces of A3 paper for each group. They will
draw the background for a desert habitat on one of the papers and on the other they will draw an ocean
habitat. I will give the children pictures of the ocean and desert animals and they will stick the pictures in
