The HippoCampus is a great learning website for students. It offers multiple games for students to learn
from. This is a good website for review. It offers middle schools students a change to revisit the content
learned on class and learn on their own. The Nevada Standard it covers would be would be:

Congress and the Committees of Correspondence.
H2.[6-8].9 Describe the events, course, and results of the American
Revolution, including the contributions of women, African Americans, and

This is a great website to learn civics. Judge Sandra Day O’Connor founded it, to help students learn about
the government and how it functions. Students can learn about the different levels of government and
presidential rights. The Do I Have a Right? covers the Nevada Social Studies Standard: C14 .[6-8].5
Explain the functions of the three branches of government (executive, legislative, and judicial) as found in
the U.S. and Nevada Constitutions.

United States.

westward expansion.
This game helps students experience the Gold Rush. It is a fun game to play and aligns with the
curriculum and gives students an glimpse to life during that century.

The Khan Academy offers financial support to students and completes the Nevada Social Studies
Standard E10.[6-8].3 Explain why riskier loans command higher interest rates than safer loans. The Khan
Acadmey offers tutorials and lessons on how the financial market works. Students and parents should
access this site to better understand the financial market. It offers information on the stock market,
investing, compound interest, etc… all which help students understand money and its impact in the
world.
